Name 5 things that are weird about you.
1. I don't find Kim Kardashian that attractive
2. I like the sound of vacuum cleaners.
3. On my desktop I have pictures of Supergirl and Selina Kyle.
4. I buried my Tascam portastudio at sea.
5. My last 3 cats have been black.

1. My right eye is blue, my left eye is quarter brown
2. I usually write songs with the beat first, then lyrics, then get a tune in my head and have to work out how to play it (I think most people write on an instrument first).
3. I trust people and give nearly everyone the benefit of the doubt (pretty weird so I'm told but I've travelled the world and found people pretty amazing in general)
4. I buy all my clothes from charity shops and adapt them even though I can afford new ones - I loathe shopping (pretty weird for a woman)
5. I didn't start song writing till I was 50.

1) I don't believe there is intelligent life on other planets. There's hardly any on this one ;-) (I do think there is some kind of life out there but I highly doubt they they are all humanoid looking with furrowed brows like on the Star Trek shows. If anything they may be in a form that we can't even see or recognize. Humans are a result of an amazing accident and a magnificent confluence of coincidences. We're one of a kind which is all the more reason we need to protect the earth and the people who live on it. ET won't be phoning home in our lifetimes. But we will eventually live on other planets. Then humanoid space aliens will exist. They will be us.
2) I believe in alternate universes.
3) I believe in reincarnation.
4) I don't believe the dead exist in any way or can see or hear anything or do anything or interact with the living. They are dust in the wind but their spirits do live on in our hearts and minds. All mediums are fakes.
5) I believe that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone despite tons of evidence to the contrary. Other assassinations of well known people may have been conspiracies but in this one, the killer got lucky. Us, not so much. I think it's possible that Mark David Chapman was a "Manchurian candidate" programed to kill John Lennon because Lennon was perceived by the establishment as an enemy of the state and someone who could lead a revolution. If that's a weird theory, well you asked for weird!

Scott:
I don't find it odd that you don't find Kim K. attractive. I don't either.
Me:
1. I like to break out into odd dances of my own design when there is no music... only the music in my head. In public.
2. I hate the process of writing songs. But, I love having finished one. (Although that's probably not all that weird.)
3. I had brain surgery and am actually kinda fond of my scar.
4. I name my guitars after people who were important in my development, musically. Except my new Telecaster, George. George is named after a Bugs Bunny routine.
5. I genuinely believe that Beavis and Butt-Head were the best rock music critics of the 1990s. They were dead-on more often than not. And even when I disagreed with them, I could see their point.

I also think Kim's looks are highly over rated but Kendall is another story.

@FT ~ I'm interested in the story of the Portastudio and why you buried it at sea.
@Noah ~ I admire your avoidance of TV. It's a terrible habit that I wish I could break.

Wow. I watch very little TV.
This does not seem weird to me, much of it is awful.
I do like Supergirl. Also 'Lucifer' is pretty good too.
I'm not numbering these, because,
1, I can't be bothered, 2 through 5, see 1.
I don't only 'see' dead people, I routinely work with them,
BEATLESEX, my band, has one living member. Me, that's on a technicality,
I actually did die, but they brought me back. It's now all overtime to me.
I hate many commercials.
Worst is Kars For Kids....
1-877 Kars For Kids
You gave us a car
and we totaled it
But we sure had us lots of fun,
so give us... another one.
That's how I hear the damned thing.
I hate the Cialis commercial,
"Why pause to take a pill?"
Good question, I would however like to pause to pound
the shit out of some announcer who desperately deserves it.
"ask my doctor if my heart is healthy enough for sex?"
God is my physician, and He'd just laugh anyway.
I'm an ornery old bastard who doesn't get any offers anyway,
that's why God would laugh. "As If!" He'd go.
What else....
I have a hernia, which means
I have the world's largest belly button.
Probably more information than anyone wanted,
but that may have something to do with why I'll never have sex again in my life.
Nah, I don't trust doctors, they'd only mess me up,
I hear the commercials, 'if you've had a mesh operation
you could be eligible for a cash settlement'. F*** that noise,
I'll keep my freakish bellybutton thank you.
Oh I Am The Muse.
That's worth five weird things right there, if the works with dead people
didn't do it.
I'm reincarnated, I was here before, and I remember it,
I was a woman named Jane.
What else?
Probably more, but isn't that already enough?
I'm already the weirdest one here. Let's leave it at that then.
Oh, here's a cool new ALJ record,
about a guy who dreams his cat can talk and sing,
and the cat sings a song....
"There's No Food In My F***ing Bowl" by American Lesley Jane

I wish to God I could answer that. I think I am perfectly normal and all my actions completely logical. But everyone one I know thinks I'm weird as hell. Go figure...

well the portastudio was a big rite of passage for me. I was not technically inclined and it took me forever before I wasn't erasing half the tracks I recorded by accident. Anyway I wore the hell out of that, and the act of buying it was even an important event in my life, so since I was living by the ocean at the time it died for good, it seemed righteous to throw it in the sea.

So funny. I read Shoe City Sound's post and thought to myself, "I feel perfectly normal, too. It is the other people who think I am... well, a bit off."

1. I enjoy the month or so lead up to going on vacation more than being on vacation.
2. I am attracted to overweight women. (I think Adele is fine and want her badly)
3. I only sleep 3-4 hours a night and am seldom sleepy or tired.
4. I am the fish whisperer. I talk them into biting my hook and all the other fishermen hate me because I always catch my limit.
5. I can speak Vietnamese and Tagalog but only when I am coming out of anesthesia.
Exlaination: I was fluent in Vietnamese and Tagalog when I was in the Navy Seabees during the Vietnam war. However, after I came home I forgot both languages completely as I have been in rooms full of people speaking the languages and could not understand a single word. But, a few years back I had surgery and when I was coming out of the anesthesia the nurses who were both Vietnamese and Filipino were speaking their native languages and I began to converse with them. They said I was speaking to them fluently. However, when the anesthesia had worn off I didn't understand anything they said to me in those languages.

I have one...my guitar broke (the neck of course), I fixed it but have to get new strings...obviously I am starving to play again...but if this wonderful piece of wood ever makes a sound again ..you never know. Halleluljah
Anyway the weird thing is that I played my instrument without strings last night and was thinking about recording and playing in NYC again. Not weird at all after 22 years in New York and turning 50 on June 3rd.
One thought..please IAC musicians keep on with the good stuff, I love your material, and you should be proud. If you ever question what you are doing..send me a message via emgiel17@gmail.com.
God bless IMP

When the Sopranos first came on the air we didn't have HBO. Then HBO gave a us free trial period of 6 months and we were hooked after seeing that show as well as other great shows on that network. Eventually, Game of Thrones became the new Sopranos and the addiction to certain shows continues. Luckily most of us had TVs when the Beatles were on in 1964! It feel like I was born on that day.
We do however only watch DVR'd shows so we can watch the them at our convenience and skip the commercials. We're also very selective about what we record. We've seen some amazing documentaries that were amazingly informative and entertaining. But the case for not watching TV at all is very compelling. It's sort of like becoming a vegetarian - nice to aspire to, hard to do in general.

I'm autistic. Well, that's what Sis sez. Could be some of that. It's a wide spectrum.
I play songs and snippets all the time, constantly, in my head. Usually my own. Haven't sat down and recorded any in years though. I'm prolly just selfish.
I believe in God. Prolly not yours, though.
I believe there's a purpose involved with the Universe. Prolly not yours, though.
I'm not actually a drunk. Surprise!
