Do you mind it when songs have the F word in them?
This came up on facebook. Most of the people I know have that word in their working vocabulary. How much does it bother you when you're listening to a song and it pops up?

No worries as long as the song is good.

The song in question was this one, one of the great indie songs ever, imo.

I'm totally okay with that unless there are more F words than actual words xD but aside that, it's cool

I probably drop the F bomb 50 times a day. No, it doesn't bother me unless it is in the presence of children. That's when I turn that shit off.

Monicka, have you actually ever heard a song that literally has more "F words" than actual words? LOL
Believe it or not, I think I can remember at least one such song... Obviously and expectedly, it's hip-hop. :P But I'll refrain from posting a link to it here...

I would be totally shocked if a song or singer I really liked used that word. Can you imagine any sweet songstress having that as a lyric, it's kind of a turn off.
I get that it has more effect in a Street song but I don't listen to them as a rule.
Once you allow these words into your language you find you'll rely on them more and more because you know they get attention, it's a bit of a cop-out lyrically.
Do you think Karen Carpenter would have got more respect for singing "Why do fuckin' birds suddenly appear"

Might've helped the Carpenters, they were hated by many for being so squeaky clean.

What a ridiculous thing to say about the greatest duo ever. If what they did was considered 'squeaky clean' then hose me down and call me Bubbles!

...EVERY FUCKIN' TIME!!! YES! IT DOES! IT MAKES ME SO FUCKIN' MAD!
...much more routinely so I'd say than would be the occurrence of my "clicking" on some damned link. Although, I DID click on that one above... figured it was "clean" enough... bein' "Mr. Bubbles" and all.

I love the F bomb. It can be used so many different ways. No, it doesn't bother me when it is in a song unless there are kids listening.

I have used that word in a few songs, it just got in by surprise. I think people don't like it if it comes from a sweet folk type of a singer that they like. Some of my music fans would melt down if they knew some of my alternative musics. Its a very sad delema to be eclectic, with no genre to be faithful to and no cemented style to hang on to.

Nah I don't mind. I don't go out of my way to throw one in or anything,
'wait, not so fast... why, there's no bloody F word in here? Start again...'
the things write themselves anyway, I just notate what the music says to do.
same with lyrics, how it goes just comes out, I've tried changing a lyric
just 'cause I wanted to, and ended up changing it back if it was wrong.
You can usually tell, and as for this one here, actually having "Fuck You" as
the title, that's just dead brilliant that is. I LOVE Cee Lo's "Fuck You";
it's one of the best records ever. I just love the fucking thing. It's TOO good.
facebook can be a bit much sometimes...
they have a 'like' button...
too bad they don't have a 'this is ridiculous' button.

PS... I'm watching this "Fuck You" CeeLo video again. This is insanely brilliant. It's basically The best song ever, bumped "Stoney End" right out of the top spot. Whoa.

Actually, I recently discovered, there is another song, different one,
done by a chick, I forget her name, I only heard it once in a movie.
Yes, I forget what movie too. But I did get to see the song credit,
it is actually a song called "Fuck You" --- a chick is singing it...
it goes "Fuck you, Fuck you very much..." it's pretty catchy and funny.
I'll see if I can figure out who it was.

Oh Good. I found it.

Now, that one, really sounds like it could have been an American Lesley Jane record.
It's just not funny how much it does.... I'd cover it, but what's the point,
it was so perfectly stated. Okay she can sing higher than I can.
But speaking of song titles pushing the envelope, funny ones at that,
I came across this, it is easily as offensive as a song called "Fuck You"
or a different song called "Fuck You".... perhaps even more, to some...
everybody's different, but anyway, here is, "You Are A Cunt"...
like the last one, it has the lyrics, and while I don't rate is as perfect
and catchy as song as Lily Allen's "Fuck You", it's still pretty good and way funny.

That was a typo;
I meant to say,
"while I don't rate it as perfect
and catchy as song as Lily Allen's "Fuck You", it's still pretty good and way funny."
I tried editing it, but you know how that goes, doesn't always wanna comply.
And I forgot to mention the artist's name for this last one,
it is Kat McSnatch. ...actually, I'm not entirely sure about that...
this is the name of the person who posted this on youtube...
Lily Allen's record seems to be the whole nine yards, maybe even possibly
involving a real record company, I hear there's still a few of them left.
This thing here, may not be signed,
may be just a thing somebody did as a gag, I really don't know.
It's honestly not so great a song as I judge a song qualitatively,
that I'm likely to even play it again, but it was funny
and I'm glad I saw it once, because it is catchy enough
that I'll never forget it, and on occasion I'm sure to be singing it in my head.
It is funny as hell. Okay maybe I'd listen to it again.
If I was still drinking, I'd throw a party, and have a bunch of people,
we'd all get drunk, and do a dance----I would actually have everyone
invent their own dance for this song, why not, it begs to be danced to----
it would be interesting.
But I stopped drinking.
Yep. Well I perfected getting fall down drunk,
no need to do that anymore.
