insidious tunes
So I got an early listening to a new song from an indie band I like a lot, and I thought to myself this is pretty good. As I became more acquainted to the melody, it now runs thru my head day and night, it's strange how stuff can grow on ya.

Well, Jilliane,
I love your new logo.
And they say brevity is the heart of wit,
so by that yardstick, these posts are hilarious!

Oh,
forgot my original reason for posting on this thread.
"Sugar Sugar" by The Archies.
Really, man, I ask you,
isn't it about time I get the f---ing song out of my f---ing head already?
Holy Cow.
Let me find a new annoying song to get stuck in my head.
I used to like it, I bought the record, man.
Betty sings quite well.
I wonder if the modern day Archies crew will form a band
and do Sugar Sugar.
Maybe not. But if they do,
please keep it at the level of annoying it is presently at,
like, don't make a kabillion times worse, please, please, please.
Well you know what can happen with some of these modern day remakes,
don't you?
Sometimes, they flop and flop hard.
I hope that won't happen to Sugar Sugar.
Oh it's in my head for forever, but I'm used to this level of annoying,
hardly prepared for a whole new level of annoying.
We now return control of your television set.
The Dude Abides.

At the core of the Riverdale show is Archie's desire to do music. He already performed at a talent show after getting a case of stage fright, I'm sure the band is not far behind. Meanwhile, in the pilot, Josie and the Pussycats did a version of Sugar Sugar. As for bubblegum songs that's not one of my favorites. I liked Bang, Shang-a-Lang better by the Archies. heh

Bang Shang-a-Lang, huh.
Don't remember that one, but it rings a bell...
Kinda remember Jingle Jangle.
Oh and it's not that I loved Sugar Sugar all that much,
it just, you know man, it's a freakin' earworm...
so, I remember also Josie and the Pussycats...
like, the original, it was a cartoon.
Tell me, how does the modern version of the Pussycats stand up
to the ones from when we were growing up in the early 70s?

Well the modern version is better but it's more visual than musical. Here's their best moment so far, when Veronica temporarily joined. The keyboard player Valerie is hot, she and Archie have a thing going right now in fact, but Archie's a dawg, he loves them all. :)
