What's your favorite line of lyric you've ever written
I've written a lot of golden ones but I'd have to say
"but there is no alarm clock set, that I'll tell you upfront"

These things I carry on my shoulders, they fit underneath my shirt
"They say it will make me stronger, but they don't say how much it hurts."

I'll find something to believe in
I forgive all of you
But most of all I forgive me too
I guess I'll just break even

Another one of mine that I dig:
To fan the flames you threw the fan in the fire, it burned very hot but soon turned to ash

One I'm into lately:
Before I ever knew your name
I was underneath your sky
feeling the very same rain
I never, I never know why
Why I knew you
before I ever knew your name
It's on the featured station right now:

Well people I don't do a lot of music with lyrics, I am mainly 99 percent an instrumentalist cause that is where I think I am best, I write melodies , that is it. not a songcrafter lyricist, but this is a goofy cheeky tune entitled " I don't like you" its about relationships, and how they sometimes go sideways, and expectations wanting people to change when one should change their own behavior .....anyways. its complicated with getting along with people or mates, the song is very crudely recorded, I was messing around one day and put down an idea
part of the lyrics simple and kinda funny but true. I think anyways it is all about human behavior and our funny silly attitudes that get the best of us sometimes
I dont like you , you dont like me
I guess, guess that's the way its gonna be
you dont like me I dont like you
I guess thats the way its gonna be
If you ever wanna change that behavior
If you ever wanna change that behavior
I guess I can change mine too

I may be just a little bit freaky, I may be just a little bit strange
I may be just little bit out of my head some say I'm a whole lotta deranged

"Well I'd feel like Robert Johnson
Way back in nineteen thirty-something
As the sun sets on the plains
And on and on and on they're sayin'
'I'll only ask you once, and the question's plain
Are you going my way?
Are you going my way?'"
From "The Passerby"
Cautioning someone not to put trust in the titular character. Although it's all metaphorical, I never specify whether the self contradictory lines are an actual quote from a persistent individual, or something paraphrased by an untrusting narrator.

I've survived the storms
but there will be no awards or distinctions for what I've endured
I've seen hell and tasted the fire
but all my battles gone unnoticed 'cause they weren't televised
when I was at war, all alone on the front
sentenced to fight on my own

These were great to read here is some of mine
"Don't care"
While you were out there out there chasing your demons
This old train has broken down
"A knights tale"
It's so hard to sleep in this bed of thorns
my horse is so tired and my armor's worn
"Hold on"
On that cold day in December
One that I'll always remember
there was no ribbons and no bows
the snow it was so white
your heart as cold as ice
on the day that you gave away our love
"Easy come hard to go"
Oh its easier said than done,
why is it so easy to come and so hard to go
"Never let you go"
Little bird you are so pretty ... are your feathers made of gold
I am like old man winter ... My heart is grey and cold
I'll put you in a cage
I will clip your pretty wings
I will only let you down
I will never let you go
