glad you did Richard. aint for me.I gave it 5 minutes of my life and decided thats enough although I liked hey now now hey now now that the fly posted. Dylan's unreleased "new" release not so much. apparently was in the can and he decided to drop it. so rave on, it aint my thing, rather listen to the indie people music stuff at IMP. guess I aint a appreciative lover of Dylan although he is an ICON and a terrific lyricist and has many tunes I dig, this did absolutely nothing for me

He once got wrongly convicted people out of jail. Now he rambles on about an assassination 57 years ago that has been turned over by every conspiracy theorist since. At least if it was a decent tune .......

See Francesca knows how to get to the point instead of being politically correct like me, yes Francesca, it is awful. a old rambling man who decided to resurrect a old recording that should have never seen the light of day.
Yet, the rolling stone and other rag tag pieces of crap reports stand in awe that in their educated opinion it was amazing, see how the populace gets influenced, blessed and anointed by the press just because the guy lucked out become an ICON and was at one time a leader in writing good material. . When in fact there are people with some common sense can see right through it for what it really is. A long winded sloppy attempt at trying to capture ones attention, Bloody awful it was Francesca, damn it was worse then drinking rotgut,.

FT. I listen to your material over Dylan any day,in this bottle of song, well he is like that wine that turned to vinegar on this latest attempt to influence a generation, its over, I will listen to his songs of the past, not this one, terrible attempt at pulling off a stunt like this, I would go listen to Steve April and bob elliott and the amazing francesca tamellini and anyone here at IMP over Dylan's drivel in this latest tune
look, some people will dig anything he does, just because he is Dylan, and this attempt by the music media types to paint this as a Iconic song, all they want is to look good ,yeah go on and adore and bow down to his newest piece. like some dogs going to its own barf and lap it up, lol

I have nothing against him. When amusing myself I sometimes play his songs. I know he had a huge influence and is one of the greats, but if someone you didn’t know came up with this you wouldn’t give it a second listen.

yup ,true Francesca, many people have covered his songs. he is to be acknowledged as one of the greatest lyricist and folk singers of all time. no question. Who else would listen to this except that Dylan drops a tune and the world goes ,wow. Only a few would dare challenge this move. yet who are we to judge, I aint no Icon, never will be!!

I am not particularly fond of modern Dylan, but I legitimately enjoy the sombre tone of this song. The instrumentation is subtle but effective I find. Lyrically, though, it's dated and not Bob's best work.
That said, Bryon I have a lot of respect for you and am surprised to read the "dog lapping its own barf" comment. This comes across as an attempt to insult the intelligence and/or integrity of anyone for simply liking a song that you don't. It's borderline musical snobbery, and is generally not something I see at IMP, and that is one of the biggest reasons I enjoy being here. I'm sure that wasn't the intent, but it was irksome nonetheless.

Mike, that last part of my comment was something I ruminated on and have to say and was pondering, should I drop this here, and yes it was insulting and to some disrespectful of a man who has devoted his entire life sharing his wisdom insight and understanding in song.,so yes it was uncalled for. I was flippant and being a smart ass has been one of my unfortunate traits. We all have some nasty breed of human nature that resides in us, I guess that is mine
cheers

I will have to go back in a different state of mind, close my eyes, and drift and listen.
perhaps I may feel like Larree and others, yet, I have prejudiced my opinion but again it may grow on me. Knowing me , that is unlikely
