Dare I bring this up? IMPstock, a sitewide live concert event
okay, now I'm sure some of you are familiar with Second Life. I've arranged for a nice venue and would like the indies here to stage a concert event perhaps in late June.
Second Life is a virtual world where the best aspect of it is that there are a lot of music folks like us doing shows. You have an avatar character and you go up on a virtual stage and the avatar strums his guitar or whatever and the live performance is beamed out to anyone who wants to listen. Avatars from all over come to said concert and I think it's a perfect way for bedroom musicians and others to get out and play live. I've done many concerts there and usually had great time.
Now, I'm also going to arrange for a guide to show you the ropes there if you volunteer. I'm looking for people who will play a 15 minute set of mostly original songs. I also volunteer to be one of the artists. but we're not doing this unless we get at least a dozen people so I need 11 of you to step up, don't worry about the technical aspects, you will have much help.

I don't have the equipment to perform on Second Life anymore. I'm selling my 2480 DVD and downsizing.
I always had a great time performing there and almost always to a full house. I had so many followers (mostly from Europe) that I would crash the room I was playing in so when I realized there was a person cap, I left.

Well totally not my thing, I have read up on it beforehand and checked out the aspects of what it involves and it just doesnt appeal to me or interest me one iota. Certainly some here would dig it, i am sure. I have enough IRL things going on and that is all I need. Hope it pans out and gets some traction here with those who are into this . Cheers.

Well keep in mind you guys, if we pull this off, you can all still listen and you don't necessarily need to be avatars to do that.

Hey Scott.. great idea and sounds like fun. I'm not sure if we can figure out the technical aspect of it...but if so, I'm pretty sure I can rope Tony into it. LOL

That's the kind of spirit I was looking for. I just know we can get enough artists together.
I think we're up to 3 or 4 now counting Noah. :D I'm sure Eric will come too.
