I'd love to keep this thread open for cynicism on ANY topic (in good taste of course) - over to YOU
I'm starting this thread for the cynical few
Who didn't spot Ziplok (because he's new)
He's up and he's coming to spread his ideas
I wish him good luck but it might end in tears!

What's the deal here, you should know
Ya whip'm hard and brand 'm good
You ain't no stick in no damn wood
I got some thoughts I'll tell ya son
Media marketing ain't no fun
What you need to up your stats
Is, wear a lot of different hats
Dip you toe in every pool
Do what you was told at school
Be nice to old ladies, be hot for young gals
Love your enemies, don't trust 'pals'
Computers are a useful tool
But folks get tired as a rule
Of clicking links and reading stuff
A thankless task that's kinda tough
2 second views ain't worth a dime
You need a fan who takes the time
To hear you out, come back for more
Stick your foot in THAT guy's door
Folks'll follow any damn thing
That's controversial, threatening
Makes them laugh or makes you cry
But they don't feel the need to buy
Say you're trending they're impressed
Show your tats and bear your breast
But if you like your numbers high
It's easy Man, I'll tell you why
You simply have to lie and cheat
And they'll be falling at your feet

nice piece IMPoster. so as a promoter in this biz for 15 years I dealt with so many artists who want it right now, there is no easy method to success. for those who want to get there. learn the business of music. read study develop your brand, grow your fans. invest in yourself. here is a good artist to read. lots more out there, Its an ocean of artists out there,i am drowning throw me a life preserver cheers http://blog.sonicbids.com/why-unsigned-musicians-should-worry-about-popularity-not-money

I too have thoughts on making it
breaking out and faking it
paying dues and hating it
eating shit and liking it
you see, just like IMPoster here
I really have no fucking fear
the burbs, my youth, our needs were met
guitars and drums, but feet weren't wet
i ran away at age 15
to chase this rock and roll requiem
handed deal, an offer, sign
take it now, don't wait in line
I didn't take that deal that day
It rubbed me wrong, I walked away
a new band for my new found fight
to sooth the thoughts of lost limelight
but truth be told, a bullet dodged
too soon for kid who's head was lodged
but not too far to see in store
the peace of mind, free will, will soar
no money fame, exposure, nope
no way to climb that greased up rope
without the back of A and R
this bitch stayed broke on broke guitar
moral is, so few will find
their way to top, but peace of mind
is underrated, I say again

From my old saying, and what I have said for man years and it is so so true there are “So many artists, so much music, throw me a life preserver, I am drowning”
So y'all I have promoted artists for 15 years
Over that time I have seen lotsa cryin and tears
Its not for lack of these people not trying
but some careers are destined for dying
Many in the music biz dont have a clue
that is why most wear only one shoe
They spent all their money on guitars and amps
that is why they only have one pair of pants
To succeed in this damn biz you have to sacrifice
Just thinking its easy is like throwing the dice
you see, I know i have helped many succeed
and it wasnt just talent that made them try ,it was greed
Its having that Greed and drive for success to make it
and you know I helped many but you gotta really gotta shake it
Well you all know what I am a saying
It takes more then wishing hoping and praying
and I can guarantee you aint going to be an overnight star
It takes lots of pain practice suffering and even having no car
So for those of you who think its just going to happen on the internet
well you are deceived because it takes blood tears and lots of sweat
You have to get out there and work your fuckin chops
and you cant just bring me or others a bunch of crap and slop
So get out there you guys and do your thing
and then, maybe someday, I will hear you sing

This is the best thread ever so I had to chime in. :)
I humbly brought my music to the crazy online site
I said I was the greatest and it turned into a fight
My songs all went to number one, that couldn't be a fluke
but still I never got my due, the bs made me puke
I picked up many stalkers and my name was everywhere
Wasn't that the purpose, to make the masses care?
I guess not for I'm still waiting for that fame to call
A big star on the internet is not a star at all
