WHY IAC's THE BEST MUSIC SITE (revised)
Pleased to tap into a buncha great songs, undiscovered (or underdiscovered) talent here on IAC, last couple days.

1. Bern and the Brights, "Boo." Listened to this song 15 times or so, grows on ya. The vox starts soft and plaintive, and grows in authority, the violin lays back and builds suspense, the drummer adds value, and wham a new dimension opens up, houston we have lift off...http://iacmusic.com/artists/addtostation.aspx?SongID=85039

2. Moorcheba, "Lighten Up." Where's this song been hidin'??? Oh, kinda discovered, special vocal performance, very together band, with muti-sonic textures.

3. Prospect Lane, "The Mirror." Touches Doors and Floyd landscape here and there, note to self about tempting egotism, mystery revery by a mirror. ttp://www.iacmusic.com/play2.aspx?songID=85033.

also like...
alberto gonzalez, the laughin' man "reconciled."

THIS IS THE LAST COUPLE DAYS only...there, i got that out there before it got cancelled/deleted...

You've highlighted two things I've added to Over The Moon - I've always loved Morcheeba and I think The Mirror is a really great track. Great minds!

Don't know what the "last couple of days refers to????"

Hey Steve, I agree that indie music is the best anywhere. Just providing some links to make it easier for folks to track down the tracks you've suggested (and hopefully some more). Good to see you here, active and posting.. your stations are among the best on IAC and reflective of your eclecticism. Always good to see you.

Hi all

thanks Steve for the tips -I already had 2 of these on stations!

The reason I think IAC should be the most sought after site to place music is the
interactive nature of the site and the Art/Music interface---we artists can configure our music and pics plus help our fellow musos by adding their music to our stations

I think it is called "Community"

---and yes the music is excellent!!

there are sites in NZ where you have to send your files to a moderator for them to upload on your behalf

thanks for your contributions, now we have the start, a nice, readable thread, a thread in the tapestry lol...

here's a couple poems that are very musical.

DREAM OF A BLESSED SPIRIT

ALL the heavy days are over;
Leave the body's coloured pride
Underneath the grass and clover,
With the feet laid side by side.

One with her are mirth and duty;
Bear the gold-embroidered dress,
For she needs not her sad beauty,
To the scented oaken press.

Hers the kiss of Mother Mary,
The long hair is on her face;
Still she goes with footsteps wary
Full of earth's old timid grace.

With white feet of angels seven
Her white feet go glimmering;
And above the deep of heaven,
Flame on flame, and wing on wing.

PRESENCES

by: W. B. Yeats (1865-1939)

THIS night has been so strange that it seemed
As if the hair stood up on my head.
From going-down of the sun I have dreamed
That women laughing, or timid or wild,
In rustle of lace or silken stuff,
Climbed up my creaking stair. They had read
All I had rhymed of that monstrous thing
Returned and yet unrequited love.
They stood in the door and stood between
My great wood lectern and the fire
Till I could hear their hearts beating:
One is a harlot, and one a child
That never looked upon man with desire,
And one, it may be, a queen.

Oh boy, I have tried to avoid the "owed money" situation because I gave up on it a long time ago…
No, I am here because I like everything else about the site. The musicians and artists are top notch and my listens numbers are very impressive. The forums are (now) intelligent and read worthy. Plus I like a lot of folks here. There is a great community spirit here at IAC. That alone is worth the lack of accountability in regards to $$$. As a matter of fact, I find those things to be invaluable. IAC? I ain't mad at them. Maybe, like a lot of folks these days, they just don't have it to give. Look around you, the whole world is bleeding red ink right now. Not trying to make excuses for them, just saying there might be a bigger reason than we all know. Over the years I have been on a lot of musicians sites that just suddenly disappeared one day. What a ominous feeling it is to click on your favorite link and get the 404 message and a blank screen. The IAC link just keeps working year after year.

Let the music play, for me, that's all that really matters.............

Here's to a thriving zombie life for it on this here IAC's pipeline.

IAC is great, because of the way it's site design can lend a hand to communicating & sharing music with folks of like mind.

dunno about that...

here's alittle keats...

"Oh brightest of my children dear, earth-born
and sky-engendered, Son of Mysteries
all unrevealed even to the powers
which met at thy creating; at whose joys
and palpitations sweet, and pleasures soft,
I wonder how they came and whence;
and at the fruits whereof what shapes they be
distinct and visible, symbols divine,
manifestations of that beauteous life
diffused unseen throughout eternal space;
of these new-formed art thou, o brightest child!"

and here...

"It was indeed the great Magician
feeling, with careful toe, for every stair,
and retrograding careful as he can,
backwards and downwards from his own two pair;
"Salpietro" exclaimed Hum, "is the dog there?
He's always in my way upon the mat!"
"He's in the kitchen or the Lord knows where,'
replied the Swiss, "the nasty, yelping brat."
"Don't beat him!" returned Hum, and on the floor
came pat.

A lonely cloud floats leisurely by.
We never tire of looking at each other -
Only the mountain and I.

THE TWO TREES

BELOVED, gaze in thine own heart,
The holy tree is growing there;
From joy the holy branches start,
And all the trembling flowers they bear.
The changing colours of its fruit
Have dowered the stars with merry light;
The surety of its hidden root
Has planted quiet in the night;
The shaking of its leafy head
Has given the waves their melody,
And made my lips and music wed,
Murmuring a wizard song for thee.
There the Loves a circle go,
The flaming circle of our days,
Gyring, spiring to and fro
In those great ignorant leafy ways;
Remembering all that shaken hair
And how the wingèd sandals dart,
Thine eyes grow full of tender care:
Beloved, gaze in thine own heart...
