Just got my laptop up and running
Oh man! Well, for one thing I'm glad I do know a lot about PC's. Friday, when I went to log on with my laptop, my facial recognition software was not working so I said ok I'll just do the other option and type in my password. I type it in and I get a wrong password error. I know the friggin password. Tried a few times, no good.
After a few more tries I finally got it to give me an option of just logging in with my password which I typed in AGAIN. This time I got an error saying my Microsoft password does not work and I'll have to reset it at Microsoft.
Ok so I go to the live sign in and get a password error so I click on forgot password and they ask for an email address. Well I typed it in and then remembered that email address was only on my laptop!
So I set that email address up on my iPad but I can't remember the password for the account..... oh man. So I log on to Cox and change the password for that account and all is well. I get the email and change the live password and yep, that worked.
But.... now I had no keyboard! So I check Device Manager and there is an I/O error for the keyboard. I uninstall and restart, still there. Ran a ton of fix commands using Windows Power Shell and SFC / Scannow and they found a shit load of corrupt files.
So all the way back to the beginning of loading the PC up from scratch, first saving everything I could in the cloud and finally I'm all set again. Took a long time and a lot of work!
So, that's my Monday morning story.
