My true stories continued
Ok, last one for tonight.
So if you read the first story it ends with me living in Canoga Park and with a rented TV.
But....
I needed a job first so...
I go to this place called Toppo MFG. They make order wheels for most of the restaurants in this country.
The ad said I think 2.50 an hour or 3.50 an hour if experienced.
I go meet with the boss and he asks me about my experience and I tell him I worked at lot of companies in Rhode Island setting up machinery which is what they were looking for, a set up person.
So he's all happy and says well let me walk you through the place and you can see what we do, So I'm going by the bending machines and everyone is working and I'm laying it on thick saying oh these are toys compared to what I've done.
So he hires me and I show up on time the next morning ready to go!
So he tells me he's really glad I have experience and he needs this machine set up ASAP.
Brings me over to this bending machine I've never seen in my life and hands me a set of calipers and blueprints! I kid you not!
Now I'm thinking I'm pretty much screwed. I'm looking at the prints and the calipers and the door! This long haired dude comes up to me and says you don't have a clue do you?
I said no, I guess I should get out of here. He tells me not to worry about it and shows me how to read calipers and blueprints AND sets the whole job up for me!
We became great friends and lucky for me I'm a fast learner. I got one of the guys in the Band a job there and he was all pissed that I was making a dollar more than him! LOL!
Oh yeah the dude that helped me also sold pot so two birds.
