I tried to write and record a whole song in an hour.
It turns out it's not that easy. Mostly because I like to let ideas sit and breathe, and can spend a whole hour messing with one sound.
But I did end up with something, and it was a fun challenge that if you've got the time you should do, and then post your results here.

Hey i enjoyed watching that good try. Song was good as well. I can do live sets with no idea what i am going to do. They usually lasted a good couple of hours sometimes longer. But i have a lot of the old classics like the 808 909 303 Microkorg a few other bits and pieces. It,s keeping everything in sync that,s the challenging part

Sounds like you'd be good at doing something like this, I've never been much of an improvisor so I felt pressure. It would be great to do an IMP challenge or something where we got as many people as possible to try. Scott, what do you think?

If I had to guess I'd say that most of these artists work on music on their own time, probably most would choose not. but I could be wrong.

I am interested in giving it a go, but I wouldn't likely make a video of it because I lack that kind of charisma. But I would like to make time for it.

Id urge anyone who has the time to try to do it, regardless of if you recorded or video it. I found it a really good exercise and I could imagine coming up with a keeper at some point.

Keep bashing away you will feel more at ease the more times u do it. I spent most of my band career in original bands so improv was a requirement to join. I met the guy who had the first independent recording studio (1964) in the UK John Wood recently. He recorded Pink Floyds first single Arnold Layne along with loads of others. He told me how Pink Floyd got there early sound. Which i am going to try to see if i can get anywhere close. We also spoke about Sid Barret guy was a genius. Until the whole LSD thing happened. Pink Floyd completely deserted the guy when he needed them the most bloody shame. Then claimed they knew nothing about it and made millions off of Shine on you crazy diamond and gave him SFA
