driving down Zeigler Road
When I was in high school, and got my first car, dfiving around with my friends was a major activity. My parents owned a gas station so I always had a full tank.
There was this road called Zeigler Road, in the middle of it there was this steep hill, if you drove really fast over it the car would completely leave the ground, we did that a lot, we went out of our way to go down that road so we could hit that hill.
An interesting part of that was that you had to build up a fast speed to utilize the hill properly, but of course if you did that, and somebody was coming the other way, you'd be killed. We took that risk many times, no car ever came the other way when we did it. We loved that hill. Good ol' Ziegler Road. Checked it out years later, they had flattened it out somewhat.

Nice memory. We had a lane called Scratch Lane where there was only room for one car so if you met something coming the other way one of you had to back up, sometimes for 50 yards or so. It was windy and long and we didn't want to reverse so we just got through as quick as possible relying on the sound of any oncoming vehicle, or the passenger would have to lean across and shout if it was clear. Thinking of it now makes me shiver. At least I could fly in an emergency I guess.

Don't know if it had a name, but a single lane stone tunnel that cut through a hillside. Only one car could fit and you couldn't see out the other side so people would honk their horn while going through. It was sort of nerve wracking when I first got my license as a kid but everyone was used to it.

Fascinating! I was a city boy (Los Angeles) and we had one road that we stayed off of because there were people there that always started shooting at us. Sometimes we went through there shooting back just to see if we could survive. Such is the life of a gang banger. You guys story sounds like fun to.

I have a couple incidences that I was involved in, one which I will share later
The one that was the most scary was when i was driving the 99 freeway into Vancouver from White Rock when I saw this car hit another car in the rear end a few times in front of me,(25 years ago, that was uncommon back then) it was full of people, this is not the kind of types you want to meet on the street or driving, , then after a few more shots at this guys car from the back end then they started slamming into the side of this guys car. then they brought out chains and baseball bats and started swinging them half leaning out of the car, I thought , geez am I next, so, I waited till they got in front of the car and making him slow down they were harassing the guy driving and he was trying to move around and so I gumboot the big 8 Ford and hurl past these jokers, who i thought must be high on drugs or some kinda crazies out getting their jollies, well it would have been better if I held back and slowed down and stayed away from the whole scene, wrong move on my part,. they started chasing me.swinging their chains baseball bats (glad it wasnt guns) I was scared shitless and stayed in the fast lane and had to figure out if i was going to keep going do a U turn , which was impossible due to the big dip between the south and north bound freeway lanes (had no cell at the time to dail 911) About a couple miles ahead was the turn off to the Alex Fraser bridge to the 91 freeway, but stayed in the fast lane with them coming up fast behind me, my heart was thumping and i cant express the fear that was overwhelming me. they were right behind me, ready to do damage that is for sure, up ahead was the turnoff to the other freeway, I am screaming at about 90 or a 100 mph and then made my move with a hard right across the lanes to the turnoff to the other freeway and they werent prepared to continue the following of my vehicle as my thinking beforehand saved me from sure harassment and I saw them continue on in the fast lane of the 99 while I swerved hard to the other side which I thought for sure was the only thing that helped me out of that predicament. that was the worse feeling in the world i ever encountered and on occasion I think about how scary it was.

Bryon, you should have pulled out your gat and shot those mofos dead. It would have been even more exciting, AND you would have prevented some innocent in the future from having been murdered. You didn't. So, you are responsible for some murder you probably don't even know about.

man, too scary,It gave me nightmares for months,and it still sits in my mind years later, I was shaking like a leaf at the meeting I went to, evening time. didnt take down their license plate, didnt think too scared, so i wouldnt make a good soldier or detective. And I dont carry a gun, I just wanted to get the hell out of dodge

Well, you know. There are some people who learn way early, that: fuck it, fuck you, fuck everyone, fuck me. That is the mindset that leads to what you experienced.
It is very hard to rescue such people, although possible. When faced with that, you must either dodge the situation and pray, or eliminate them. Legally, you can't do dat.
So, I applaud your cowardice. I might, also, do the same. Unless, I thought, "Later own, Ima gonna have to admit to this." In which case, I would lie.
