I cried This Morning....
My Mom has been fighting Lung Cancer for eight months. Although I have been aware of the consequence, as a defense mechanism I have buried the weight of emotion. My Mom has been looking forward to Babysitting my Young Son Aidan at my home as My wife went away on Business last night and will return in Three days.
My Mom has been very ill since her last chemo treatment, but she set a goal to get better so she could spend time with my son. She was admitted to the hospital yesterday with Pneumonia, a complication of her Lung cancer. Sadly, she will not be able to stay with me and look after her Grandson.. Aidan went to be with his other Grandma as I have to work.
As I was getting ready for work this morning,, alone in the house the situation came bearing down on me, ..and the weight I could not withstand. I think it was the silence in my home, and the realization that I should be hearing the laughter of my Son along with the happiness in my Moms Voice.. Instead I stood there alone, and the realization that My Mom may never get to play with Aidan again, or come home from the hospital released all the emotion that has been bottled up for eight months....
I cried this morning, and, ......I do not feel better....

Jeff,
I do understand what you are going through. I've been there and I wish there was something that I could do for you. All that I can do is what I am doing right now... letting you know that you are not alone; that others have felt what you are feeling right now.
My prayers are with you and your family. Take comfort in those around you.

I am really sorry to hear of this Jeff. Grieving is a process, I hope there will be some support found for your family through this time, in the least by all of our contributed thoughts and best wishes.

Illness is such a devistating thing at times... especially when it steals such beautiful moments away. I hope that you are able to find some comfort in the care and support of others through their thoughts and wishes for you and your family. Please take care!

I'm really sorry Jeff. Although on one level we may know that life is a temporary experience for all of us, letting go of a loved one is so agonizing and painful. I am also in the process of letting go of my own Mother, a day I've dreaded since I was a little girl.
