Yeah, most likely, but that kid WAS "outrageously good". And many of those in that video that I shared would be able to give some VERY "enjoyable concerts". And most of 'em were not yet teenagers.

I played in Cover Bands, best training there is for a musician learning other artists songs, and being able to perform requests , there was one band who gave me there set list for a new years party about 40 songs, some I knew others not, they were pop easy listening with some stones and beatles mix in. I learned them by ear of the ones I was unfamiliar with and had one practice, that was it,there were specific arrangements they want to learn so I had to tow the line there, it was a fun job 500 bucks each. Also did lots of solo work for special events for political parties, weddings and wakes played at restaurants.
One has to be multi faceted here, that is how it helped my chops considerably, so there is a place for cover bands
And I would also as a pianist dovetail my own works in there at gigs and sell cds ,so yeah cover bands ,covering as a solo artist has been a terrific learning experience
best thing to ever happen to me!!

More to the band I played with on New Years, their keyboard player died 2 weeks before the gig, the band leader phoned around some music stores if they knew anyone, it was me who they recommended , I am well known in White Rock South Surrey so got the gig. I filled in for a dead guy, and he was maybe 45 , me now at 75 years young I am still walking upright feel strong and walk 10 kilometers a day and probably as good a shape as I was in my 40s
"dont die blondie" which movie was that, ya all must know. aha

Every time that you use a word, whether name or otherwise, verbs, nouns, pronouns, etc., it is nothing more(or less) than "repetition". It's the "meaning" which gives it it's magic. When you "feel" what you are saying and singing, and are "coming from THAT place"(as if "it possesses you") then you are doing nothing wrong. The whole purpose for a word(or "song") is to acclimate one unto/into THAT "feeling", THAT "spirit". So, "when" THAT is what you have "accomplished" nothing is "wrong".(unless you can get sued for getting paid while doing it! )

Geez you guys, its music,. it brings joy and happiness to those who participate and listen as well as those developing their talents. Of course people groups bands take others music and do it in their own style.

Agree Bryon, music is joyful!
But for FFS, put some meaning
into it, or all is lost!
It is a bit like breathing, natural!
