Atomic Dog
Is that a badass tune or what? The lag in the beat on some of those bass notes is hilarious, and somehow makes you gotta move.
Why must I be like that?
Why must I chase the cat?
Nothing but the dog in me
Love that tune.

One of my faves. Performed it many times and yes that slight delay on the bass is a legendary movement by the great Bootsy Collins yabadabadoozy baby. Bootsy is one of the best funk bassists to ever live. There, I said it, anyone disagree? I wonder if anyone here can even name another. I mean, you will probably never see a funk jam on the featured list around here. Not on the list or priorities I think. What y'all know about the funk?
Much Respect,

I second that emotion, Stoneman! Bootsy IS the greatest funk bassist ever. Love Bootsy! I would love to see more representation from the galaxy of funk here at IMP!

Bootsy's great, but pretty sure he's not on Atomic Dog. Think the bass is Bernie Worrell on keyboards.
It's one of the most danceable things I've ever heard.

My bad. I stand corrected. I liked Bernie a lot also. The entire Parliament Funkadelic experience was a major influence on me. That song is timeless! I always get up and dance when I hear it. That shit is funky man! I like the bomb, I want the P funk! Don't want my funk stepped on.
Much Respect,
Stoneman
