Pip and Merry's Song "Liberty"
Well, I heard this song because I saw someone put a rough draft of my song I'm writing called "Supersonic" on a station called "Sound and Vision." I went to check that station out, and there was just my tune and "Liberty" on it so far. Anyway, I had to check out "Liberty," right? Here's the first lines
There's a fire burning east to west
I smell smoke but it ain't here yet
and the flames will burn us first degree
fanned by the winds of liberty
There's a flood coming north and south
coming to put the fires out
and the truth is there far all to see
said we abused our liberty
Now you tell me this isn't solid earth writing. The delivery is gritty and really just perfect. So I don't know anything about Pip and Merry, but won't you all go and listen to this piece of art because this is Americana in a fine sense and it has me feeling, and it should survive for years and years and be sung by many others throughout our years.
That's my promo for today. Whoever put it up, thanks.
