Here is the Polyrhythmic Strange Thing Tom O'Brien and I Are Writing...
I put this up to share as one musician sharing to others because I'm into it. I'm not really trying to 'fix' it. I like how it's broken. But I was writing earlier about how this thing is completely co-written, everything about it being a meeting of minds. So far it has Tom on the polyrhythmic keyboard (the basis for what we are doing here) and Matt on drums and I have just added my voice a guitar and piano. Now I'll send it back to them for further mind bending.
But if you're into watching it evolve, here is a semi-early stage. One thing is pretty certain: it's not like anything anyone else does.

Broken Wing
At my window there’s a sparrow
At my window there’s a crow
Sometimes I feel like the kestrel
And I hover, prey below
Sometimes I just dream I’m flying
But just lately I have fell
Sometimes I just pray for heaven
but I lately dream of hell
All our sins
Taking you high
In the forgiving wind
Helping me fly
Until we fall again
Broken
Wing
See the crow has come to tell me
Of a day of sadness come
but the sparrow also tells me
there’s still time and we can run
‘Cause when you say the raven’s evil
it’s also true that the raven’s kind
A murder of crows there in the darkness
Gathers deep inside our minds
All our sins
Taking you high
In the forgiving wind
Helping me fly
Until we fall again
Broken
Wing
On the wings of a hunting kestrel
I was hoping we could ride
See the world spread out below us
See where everyone goes to hide

It may sound a bit like a train wreck to you,,,I don't know.
I had to hold back and not dub any more parts so they could add more stuff. It gives me all kinds of ideas. Still no bass on it, and Tom will sing something trippy on it...

It's not quite yet polished ... but ok ... not everything needs polish.
Still ... this needs polish.

Thanks for checking it out, Guys. Thanks for the station add, Bry.
Yes, Kevin, it's topsy turvy for sure. It's not done yet, so it remains to be seen if we can get it in focus with this version or will we have to rebuild it with another version. But rebuilding is very difficult across the miles. I know if we three were in the same room, we could get it.
But I also wonder if the glue would arrive if I just redid my acoustic one more time. It gets tighter in the second verse. That is because I had to replace my guitar there since it was so off. I redid that verse the next day, and, of course, what was the off verse is now the tightest verse which shows my mind is learning just where the strum is that ties Matt and Tom together with me here. I was trying to bang something out that was in time enough to not hinder their further work upon it because I want them to be able to do stuff over the next month during which I'll be kind of buried in life stuff.
Duane, thanks for the bass offer, I am a big admirer of your musicianship and we may just send it your way. I have to run it through these guys and see what they do to it. Sure am curious what you were hearing in your mind.
What I like most here is that it is new ground, and if we get it to gel, it will be unique and beautiful.

The piano solo part in the middle that is a bit Beethovenish was actually ideas I got when I listened to my six year old playing the piano to it. He didn't play that exact thing, but he played something that triggered that in me.
