about using domain sites to add to your artist online profile
Back at the end of 1999, I was preparing my release of the first Father Time CD (self-titled). I accompanied this with a website, having purchased the name meetfathertime.com like Meet the Beatles, wasn't I clever? I actually paid someone for web design and when it was done it was a beautiful site, included one thing in particular that I was particularly proud of, a little game that led to a secret page which told this really cool myth I wrote about Father Time, which actually did tantalize a few folks. but I learned a lesson then. Getting people to leave the site they were frequenting to go to a site elsewhere seemed to be a huge obstacle. sad because over the years I have seen so many indies with great domain sites find out the same, waste of time and energy.
With Neg Ten though we had a unique dilemma in that our range of songs has been huge, we do them in the style I write them so some of our fans click on thinking they're going to get a rock song only to get a whole mixed bag. So I came up with the idea to do diverse playlists of our bag of styles, this way if you want to hear a ballad, you can listen to a playlist of Neg Ten ballads which imo are comparable in quality to the great superstars of soft rock, Bread and Carpenters. Or you could go directly to a whole bunch of political songs which have their own big following on X and bluesky. or our bread and butter, rock songs. Or psychedelic, or Beatley pop, or even Motown. Anyway check out what we did with our site to provide this array of styles.
