It's The end Of An Era
I sold my dear old Yamaha DX7 mk1, I had it for thirty years and it lasted longer than my old Korg M1. I gigged every weekend with it for two years heh.
I have replaced it with a Yamaha MX61, so far I am finding the keys light and slippery leading to bum notes when playing, but the old DX7 was kind of heavy and clunky and the keys were rattly, and it would produce random notes when playing leading to frustration when trying to complete recordings.
Well the new MX61 will take a bit of getting used to, but it has a vast array of different sounds and once I get to grip with the light and slippery feel it should be ok.

Very nice! I'm sure you will get used to the keys. Enjoy!

When my Tascam portastudio hit the end of the line, I buried it at sea, threw it into the ocean.

I still have mine. I cannot bare to let go of it! it still sounds very good in my studio. So hard to let go of gear that you have had for so long but eventually, everything must go. I figure mine will get sold after I die. Some kid will be rummaging through a garage sale and find it. He will not know anything about the history behind the instrument. Thousands of gigs and several former bands worth of memories are tied to that gear. But my spirit will be blessed to know that it found a new home and is giving a new musician the kind of joy that it gave me. But as long as I am still breathing, it is mine!
