New Song!!
I hope you're all well and still here!
Unbelievably this is the first new song I've written for two whole years!!!
I've had a terrible time with my husband being in and out of hospital for nearly a year and other stuff going on and at last I've been able to make some time for my own music. Also I play flute with a band called AfroWelsh Connection which has been very busy and doing well taking up most of my music time.
I've written this on piano and it's a VERY rough version but I hope you enjoy it and can picture it being properly recorded in due course. It's a song thanking all songwriters (including all of you) for your inspiration and commitment to sharing your music leading to more and more new songs from other songwriters and so on .....
I hope you like it xxxxx

I feel unworthy to be nominated this year I’ve been here do rarely as hubby has been seriously ill and various other things happening but I’m very grateful.
I hope writing this new song is a step in the right direction - I can’t wait to do it justice and record it properly soon. Love to everyone xx

Thoughtful lyrics, Chandra, as usual. You could be talking about many of us childless songwriters -- my songs are my babies - they gestate inside me and are born when I record them. Then you introduce them into the world when you post them and play them for people. Playing them again and again is their education, where you make them better and better. Uh-oh, I just realized where this metaphor is heading -- then your songs are out there on your own, and rarely come back to visit! I think I'll play a few of the old songs tonight -- it's time for a visit.
Sorry to hear about your hard times -- I'm glad you can find some respite in music.

Lovely to hear from you Tom. Yes our songs are our babies - I like that metaphor! I’ve put a better mp3 up today but still work to do but I’m so glad to have written a new one after so long! Xx
