Autumn by CTWitt.2
Here is a song I added to IMP just recently. It's a tough song for me to narrow down sound-wise aside from focusing on acoustic guitar, as the track goes through fair amount of twists and turns. Any feedback is appreciated. I hope you enjoy the journey.

"toucha piano in part 1, twists and turns, tempo change well done, stellar storytellin','like a seed you've grown on me/wait before you go." sparklers

The tempo change is unusual, and recasts the theme with new energy, and your choices are creative, a bit quirky, and also kinda elegant in places...

A human episode, chronicled well...redwood image great...redwoods are inspiring...

Thanks! I tried hard to give the song a sense of movement and progression, but achieving a good dynamic was tough. I'm glad to hear you found it worthwhile!

Recorded every well. Nice musicianship. Unique way to introduce the drums into the recording. Nice change up with warm bass offerings and guitar stylings. Great idea with lots of potential.

Much Respect,
Stoneman

I love the intimate interplay between the acoustic guitar and the piano and the way they are panned left and right. The song sets up a very moody atmosphere and evokes shades of Leonard Cohen, one of my favorite singer-songwriters. Nice work!

Thanks! I had done a simple acoustic version on my own with just me and my guitar, but I really wanted to bring the in-studio recording to a new level, so I'm glad to hear you liked the mixture of elements. The song has gone through quite a few renditions/compositions, but I feel like it was worth it. Good to know I'm not the only one.

I really, really love this song. It completely captures my attention and holds it the whole time, the constant changes keep it flowing and I like that it's not crowded with instruments. I think the space gives you room to be so dynamic on the acoustic, and do so effectively. Other instrumentation is subtle, and I don't think you need more personally. I think this is excellent as is.

Thank you! It's great to hear the song hits the mark, especially coming from you. I'll save my praise for the "Blinded" thread, but in short, I'm a fan. Back to "Autumn" though...

It was definitely one of the tougher songs for me to figure out, composition-wise. I actually recorded my very first demo of the song back when I was just starting out on guitar, which was almost four years ago. It was especially tricky because I had written the lyrics as a poem a while before I came up with anything musically. Most of my stuff back then came together that way, which tended to give a lot of it more of that twisty-turny dynamic. Recently I've moved more toward the counter approach of 'music first, lyrics later,' but I still try and experiment with structure, sounds etc. whenever possible.

Thanks for listening!

Your sound is definitely original and intensive. It is always easy to sound loud and big, but being able to sound intensive with acoustic instruments is a more rare skill.
Your songs break nicely the pop music conventions and they are like a painting of sounds - and as such they reminded me of the greatness of Scott Walker.
Good job!

Thanks, I'm glad to hear you liked it! I'm not really familiar with Scott Walker, but I'll have to check some of his stuff out. Your description has me intrigued.

Walker takes originality into extremes.
His latest albums (made this millenium) may be too much to many a listener, but e.g. Climate of Hunter is a much easier starting point to get familiar with his music.
