Hi Pete,
Congratulations on winnin' the Les Paul Award. Surely, you're among the most popular to win the award.
If you're inclined to explore leading a revolution in independent music, we've a great core group here on IAC, and are about to introduce ourselves to venture capitalists here in the bay area lol. I'll consider myself fortunate if you check out my artist page here on IAC, hopefully will look forward to hearing your new videos, featured on the huff post.
au revoir for now, congrats anew,
Steve A.

I've been watching THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT all week, in between Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger. I think my favorite scene is Mr. E's skeet shooting session.

Saw Pete and the Who I believe it was Summer 1966 maybe 67 as they visited Vancouver BC along with opening act Blues McGoo and Hermans Hermits ( the Hermits were the featured act, but what a transition from the Who and the smashing of the instruments at the end of their show, like guitar ,drums and everything , we all sat there dumbfounded with everyone kinda in shock and looking around wondering what the hell , what an experience, then the hermits came on , so tame in comparision .)
Truth be said The Who were the coolest band around at that time and their music still is the best. thanks for the great shows and innovations Pete et al

I was there, Auckland Town Hall January 1968, you guys, the Small Faces and Paul Jones.
You got a raw deal with the PA but to this 16 year old it didn't matter shite.
Never forgotten it, thanks.

Hey Pete,How's 2008? I hope that U can answer a quick pondery us Rock Historians have.Thru the Detours,(first)WHO,HighNumbers, theWHO,I have always thought that Daltry(fisticuffs)Moon(craZness) appealed 2 the"RockR's"while U and John(brains and songenius) also caught the"MODS"attention. We all know that U got "everybodies" attention as WHO evolved, but what was the original plan?If U have time check out my tribute 2 the GreatZ video"CY_CER_ROCK" http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=25974794 ~Austn austinlmiller@comcast.net

Alright....a couple of things.....First I am TOTALLY HONORED that you wrote a song about me.....LOL.
Secondly (on a more serious note!)...Thank you for being here Pete....Your being a member of IAC says a whole lot about your Spirit, your obvious innate sense of music today and your willingness to share your talents with like minded musicians.
It is with a humble voice that I say....."You are one of the people I truly admire"
Thanks Again For Just Being Here......Rock on FOREVER!

Hey Hooligan, Great accaza guitar cadenza Ntro with the recorder that solo'es later on... Your percussive beats/strum and tonic accented picking style is awesome N this "put Down" statement tune 'bout what we all R capable of becoming "Lazy N Fat"...the round-off bass work is sweet along with the harmonies and chordal breakdown progression you filter N...I'm sure you had as much fun makin this one as we R listenin 2 it, with those roast'N lyriX...A tru Pete "telling it as it is, tune" ...thanX 4 sharing...~Austn

Hi Pete, my name is Carl Schonbeck and I'm a 40-something semi-fart who's always loved your stuff. Great to see you here at IAC rocking with the East End indie urchins! Thought you & Roger's latest was dandy, 'specially "Mirror Door". Coupla years back I did a record produced by Scott Mathews in Frisco, I posted some of it here at IAC if you felt like having a listen it'd be a thrill. Thanks for all the great music and don't ever hang it up...dunno who else I'd rip off. Cheers, Carl

When I first saw your stuff showin' up all over IAC, I didn't get it--'Cause you obviously are FAR from the UNDERGROUND! But, when I realized it was actually your way of supporting the INDIE scene, I was THRILLED. That windmill thing & your overall stage presence/performance has been copied so many times over the years. Of course you're BIG TIME for decades now, but you will DEFINITELY ALWAYS be an independent original!
-much love for THE WHO, Pete Townshend & the original music scene,

Thanks For Everything Pete.
I am 34 years old and it all began in 1981,I was a KISS fan, then on Christmas eve 1981 my older brother brought home a copy of the Kids are Alright movie, from there on I dropped Kiss and never looked back.Your music with The Who and your own helped me through the tymes. On every school book I wrote The Who!!! and drew HIWATT and SUNN amps.
CHEERS to you with a Taddy Porter
