As someone fascinated by the interplay of light and color, I find Helmut Licht’s work truly captivating. His exploration of light as both a medium and a subject challenges conventional boundaries and invites a deeper understanding of how we perceive our surroundings. I’m particularly intrigued by his innovative use of color to create immersive experiences that blur the lines between art and science. If you’re curious about the transformative power of light, I highly recommend linkedin on best essay services delving into Licht’s projects.

Helmut,

I finally have some more free time to focus a bit on music. I recorded a version of Don't Know Why and e-mailed it to you at the address you provided before. It's an mp3 file. Let me know what you think and we can take it from there my friend.

Best,

Patrick

I look forward to hearing what you come up with - I know it will be great!
Have a great day and stay well!!!

Hi Helmut. Hope all is well. Just wanted to check in with you. I was sick and in and out of the hospital for a couple of months in November and December. I had what was supposed to be a routine surgery that resulted in a fairly bad infection and an additional surgery. In any case, I am back to full health and feeling great. While I was recovering and away from work I pulled out the song we have been working on, Don't Know Why. I have been working on recording the guitar part. I am in the process of learning some of the chords and getting comfortable with them as I have not used a couple of the chords much in the past. It's exciting for me to do this because I am learning!! As soon as I get a version that I am reasonably comfortable with I send it your way and we can take it from there.

Your friend,

Patrick

Hello Helmut,

Patrick - sounds good to me :) In 50 years of writing music, this is the first time someone else is writing lyrics to one of my melodies. Thanks!
When it's all done I want to experiment and put some big orchestra sounds behind your recording. It may not work, but it's worth a try. I'll back you up with a vertical symphony:)
Regards to your wife. You are lucky to have a wife that is interested in and supportive of what you love to do!
Take her out for dinner :)

Helmut, Sorry the e-mail is not working. I have been sending/receiving e-mails so I am stumped as to why it's not getting through. In terms of the lead sheet, I would be more comfortable at this point having you send your version as is. I am no music wizard I really play by ear for the most part. My wife can read music so she helps me in that regard if necessary. Once I write lyrics and come up with guitar chords for a song I sometimes do practice recordings to test out the key and make sure it works with my vocals. If not, I adjust the key.

In this case, with "Don't Know Why..." I worked out the lyrics simply by listening to your instrumental recording of the tune. Then, I worked out the guitar chords by ear by playing along with your tune. However, I would really like the lead sheet as you suggested so I can confirm that what I came up with is correct. The next thing I will do is record a version of it with me singing the lyrics with guitar backing. I will play it in a key that works for my voice. I'll send that to you to see what you think.

How does that sound? -Patrick

Hey Patrick - I keep getting back any email I send you. I will get to your lead sheet this weekend. If you want the lyrics to be on it I should hear how you adjusted the melody (as you mentioned). Also, let me know your key!!

Hi Helmut,

I sent you a message through ArtistMail with lyrics for "Don't Know Why...". Let me know what you think. Also, it would be great to have the lead sheet. I can send you my address.

Patrick - I have tons of songs without lyrics. You are welcome to give it a shot. Usually the words come together with the melody. Once the melody comes without lyrics, that's the end for me. I don't have any connections in the business, but you are more than welcome to set lyrics to any of my melodies. I'm honored :)

Hello again, Thanks for your nice comments about "Used to Be Cool in High School" I enjoyed writing and playing that song. Glad you liked it. I listened to your Country Waltz song "Don't Know Why..." and noticed that you mention that it needs lyrics. Does that mean you are looking for someone to contribute lyrics? If so, I would love to take a crack at it. A collaboration, perhaps? I started getting some ideas as I was listening. If you are interested, I'll send you something. If not, that's OK too. Thanks my friend, -JP

Helmut, Just stumbled across your tune "I Love America" on the front page and added it to my Folk Scene station. I just listed to a bunch of your tunes and really enjoyed them. You have a wonderful style and a flair for comedy and writing. I get a real good positive vibe from your tunes. Seems like I can learn something from your wisdom and experience!! Stop by my artist page at some point and have a listen to some of my tunes. All the best to you, -JP

There are two ways to get to the top.
The rope way and the mat way. Pretend that life is a gym. There is one rope hanging from the ceiling and there are a thousand inflatable mats lying in the corner. The challenge is to get to the ceiling. If you're strong enough, you can pull yourself up the rope and get to the ceiling quite quickly. However, how long do you think you will be able to stay up there? If, on the other hand, you inflate one mat at a time and then slip each new inflated mat under your feet, you will slowly build up enough height to touch the ceiling. And, once there, you can stay up there pretty much as long as YOU want to. I don't think I have to translate this story into real life.
Have a great day!

Many years ago there was a shortage of nurses, so the TV media created hospital shows to glamorize the medical field in order to eliminate the nursing shortage. Then there was a shortage of police recruits, so along came the detective stories, Starsky and Hutch, etc.
All these shows tried to mentally influence young people. They created an image and then transplanted it into the viewer's mind.
The reason I'm bringing this up:
Life has a perfect plan for us. It brought us here and gave us specific talents to use in the furthering of the scheme of things. The problem is that because of external influences of all kinds, we do not develop the skill of listening within and paying attention to what we 'feel' we should and like to do.
Because of this lack of staying in touch with our inner self, we get drawn into all kinds of 'wrong' situation, which are portrayed to us as right by external sources. We have an inner voice which guides us faithfully and flawlessly along our 'path', if you may. But, we have to learn to listen, and, most of all, trust this voice implicitly. It knows what's best for us.
This takes great courage, because at times it prompts us to do things that seem wrong under the present circumstances. But as you follow its promptings more and more and then realize that things are getting better, you will develop confidence in it and your life will get better day by day.
I hope I don't sound like a preacher :) I'm going to be 70 this year and have played (and am still playing) professional music for over 50 years. What I'm saying here comes from life long observations.
Have a great day and keep making music.

Since I don't know your name, I guess I'll have to give you one:) It's an old Indian name: Mawinoba. You'll have to figure out what it means...
Thanks, Mawinoba, for you nice comments - I know they came from the heart, and it means a lot to me. Keep writing and singing!
