Seriously though, the Weather Channel guy is a fuck of a lot more credible than the pope. And he would have everything to gain by selling the fear to people. Imagine the ad revenue they would have brought into their network if they sold the fear?
At the end of the day, we will probably find out that it was just a scam created by politicians to extract money from people through taxation based on fear and the egomaniacal assumption that we can actually fix it.
