So it isn't true that you have to be genetically Jewish by DNA to become an "official" Israeli citizen? I've seen that "info" numerous times and it seemed like it was "official" and "true". I am "technically" Jewish by the way...(of DNA)

Israel has two primary pieces of legislation governing the requirements for citizenship, the 1950 Law of Return and 1952 Citizenship Law. Every Jew has the unrestricted right to immigrate to Israel and become an Israeli citizen. Individuals born within the country receive citizenship at birth if at least one parent is a citizen. Non-Jewish foreigners may naturalize after living there for at least three years while holding permanent residency and demonstrating proficiency in the Hebrew language. Naturalizing non-Jews are additionally required to renounce their previous nationalities, while Jewish immigrants are not subject to this requirement.

To Become "American"(a U.S. citizen) you are required to renounce your previous nationalities, YES! I "wish" America Would DO THIS too!
AND You MUST be "demonstrating proficiency in the English language". Wow! How Cool THAT Would Be! Hell it would be nice if I could use closed captioning on the Hispanic channels we have on our TV to see what it is that they are saying(in English) but that's impossible to do. Yet on all the English speaking channels you can get closed captions in "Spanish" and(pretty much) whatever language you want. THAT IS "discrimination". I guess?
