I have paid attention. Some state official was issuing state ID's to underage girls showing them to be adults of legal age in an elaborate Honey Pot scheme. That doesn't excuse Matt Gaetz however, he's still guilty of supporting the illegal trafficking of young women. In a Tucker interview he tried to enroll Tucker Carlson in supporting his frequent young lovers charade but Tucker wouldn't budge, it was then very obvious that Matt Gaetz has done something very wrong.
But was rape actually involved in these hook up encounters? Bring forward the victim(s) and show the proof. If he is guilty of such conduct he should face the same justice every convicted rapist does.

Sex with a junior in high school is rape in that state. and Trump, Musk, and Wally Cox Johnson knew about it and wanted this guy to head the Department of Justice?!?! They lost all credibility ever for this one.

A junior in HS would make the girl approx 17 years. And back in the day when I was that age many of those girls had active sex lives and dating older men was not uncommon. And the right make-up could get a 17 year old girl into any club with no ID check.
So I'm not so certain the matter of "Rape" can be that easily defined. If he roughed up any of these girls that has to be proven, places, times and dates. And the creep that was furnishing these girls with fake ID should be dealt with as well.
Matt is certainly guilty of bad judgement but any charges beyond that have to be proven.

I don't think you'd be bending over backwards like this if it had been a Democrat. Besides, the ethics committee concluded this from the evidence and that includes 5 Republicans, half the committee.

This is pretty cut and dry, Gaetz is a sleazebag and has made no secret of his use of escort services as if it's the perfectly normal this to do. You bring up the matter of "rape" and all I have said he must be proven guilty of such charges if true. If you're going to make such a claim then prove it.
But there's a much larger issue here that's seems to have escaped you completely, and that's the trafficking of young, underage women. And most, if not all are being coerced into this life by the most vile scum of the earth imaginable. That's Matt Gaetz's biggest transgression so far as I see it. Participating in and contributing to human trafficking, that he should answer for.
