I am sickened by the number of Democrats who voted against Israel yesterday. My party has become the "bad guys." This is not the party I joined in 1976. A former senior aide to Sen. Bernie Sanders has publicly broken with the Vermont independent, accusing him of endorsing candidates whose rhetoric and positions fuel antisemitism.
Joel Rubin, who served as Sanders’ Jewish outreach director during his 2020 presidential campaign, told Jewish Insider at the Aspen Security Forum that Sanders has supported “the most categorically anti-Israel, antisemitic candidates that we’ve seen in a generation, if ever.”
Rubin, a former State Department official, said he once believed Sanders could unite progressive values with support for the Jewish community. Instead, he argued, the senator has embraced figures who have crossed the line from criticism of Israeli government policy into rhetoric that promotes antisemitic tropes and hostility toward Jews.
He warned that such endorsements are especially damaging amid rising antisemitism in the United States and around the world, and said political leaders must distinguish between legitimate criticism of Israel and language or movements that demonize Jews.
The comments represent one of the strongest public rebukes Sanders has received from a former senior campaign aide closely involved in Jewish outreach.
Sanders, who is Jewish, has repeatedly maintained that his criticism of Israeli government policies is separate from antisemitism. Alma Hernandez, a Jewish Democratic legislator in Arizona who is known as an outspoken supporter of Israel, claimed victory on Wednesday in a bitterly contested primary for an open state Senate seat in Tucson, hailing the win as a repudiation of the far left.

I do not want to see another American soldier die in another senseless war. I do not want to hear about or experience all of the veterans benefits that have been taken away during this administrations personal wealth building practices. I do not want to see another one of my veteran brothers suffering because his health care benefits have become useless or ineffective. These are only a few of the things that I do not want. Since we are talking about do not wants. Everything in this country evolves around a bigotry issue. If its not the Jews it's the Blacks. If not the Blacks its the hispanics. If not the hispanics its the asians. not the asians, its the Gays. If not the gays its the fat people, if not the fat people its the ugly people. But lets face the facts. Americans are the biggest haters in the world. Most of the peoiple e hate are our own citizens. In this nation there has always been someone to hate and always someone willing to hate them. It is hatred that divides us and it is hatred that will eventually destroy us. Or, we will destroy ourselves with finger pointing that leads to violent reactions and innocent deaths. It probably won't matter who you vote for in the next election. I believe it will be our last as a democracy. Face it folks. The jig is up and our card has been pulled. Those who love hatred have pretty much solidified their final victory. They own the courts, the government and the presidency. The only thing left now is for the armed struggle to begin. Only those with armed struggle experience will survive it. This nation has all but been pronounced dead. A grim reality but we brought this on ourselves. Now, our only hope is that people stop ranting about what they don't and start working together to bring about the things they do want. Not just the things that will benefit their own social grouping order or their own race. But things that will benefit us all. Also we need to stop labeling people just because they take a stand on an issue that we disagree with. Now, in the past, I have been known to say that people who vote republican are racist misogynistic people who are evil and have no sense of empathy for anyone but their own. Well, my feelings have changed. I now believe that anyone who votes for anyone or anything that espouses hatred or bigotry towards any group Black, White, Brown, Gay, straight, Trans or whatever are evil people who have no sense of empathy for anyone but their own. It is the selfishness of such acts that leave me so disappointed in this nation that I so ardently defended with my life on the battlefield. It makes me sick to my stomach when I think of all that I went through just so I could come home and be treated like a second hand citizen. The hatred has been worse than my PTSD and the memories of the war. I feel like any moment now I may have to beat the shit out of someone just because they don't like the fact that I and my people exist. So I train everyday knowing that one day my martial arts may be the only thing that saves me. I drill constantly just in case I may have to defend my home or my family. I am surrounded by my potential enemies. I am the only Black man for miles around here. But I am ready and they know I am ready because they see me working out and drilling in the park everyday. But still they leave little threatening notes on my doorstep when I am not looking. But I got them on camera and i know who they are. Cowards, every damn one of them.
