Maybe it's my age or simply the company I keep, but I do seem to lose a little bit of me somewhere everyday these days, and once lost they are gone forever: I'm terminally depleting. The song has Beatle influences I suppose due to them being just about the only band I listened to from being 16 to 25 (What kind of songs do I write? I write both kinds: Lennon AND McCartney - er...I wish!).

This song takes me back .It does have that beatle, british and flower child day feeling.Its great stuff.Good job Al

I hear with my little Ear...
I envy Al's great compositional sense. The lush vox, the arrangement, the syncopation of the lyric. Hand me a hammer, and I'll dent my noggin. No one person should be this good. I echo the "Beatle" references and add a little Todd Rundgren into the mix. Excellent tune.

serendipity redux II
The mighty Al: another milestone I've been looking forward to on this chronological journey. Wit, warmth, weisenheimer, wellie-wearing (I'm guessing) and even more dodgy alliterations, if I could just be bothered to find my thesaurus... Maybe your life is just too full to allow a few minutes off for joy, but at least give 'This Old Shirt' a try
