I wrote a song. I let someone I did not know listen to that song and they liked it. Then more listened.
Now after eleven albums. I am a copywriter, producer, engineer, lyricist, composer, publisher, public relations, marketing, ASCAP artist, and CEO to the imaginary band Higher Order Language Works - Holworks from Fayetteville, NC. All of this because I wrote one song and let someone listen to it.
Holworks - To provide wholesome original music to be enjoyed by anyone for a lifetime.
Thanks for listening and supporting a musical dream. . . I definitely am an Indie Music Person. One listen will confirm that. It is all or nothing for me in music. I have next to nothing so far. Let's imagine how far that will take me. . .

Look at What I Found
05 - Look at What I Found - Forage - Mark Holman - Holworks - ASCAP 2015 Look at what I found is the result of forage. This Country Rock song is easy listening with a communal meaning. Without forage, there is no discovery. Look at What I Found must be an outcome unless the search is in vain. . .that's another song. . ..if you like it, buy it to support a musical vision.
03 - Forage - Forage - Mark S. Holman - Holworks - ASCAP 2015 Title track to the 11th album Forage. I wish I could continue this journey in a more suitable environment. This album is about that sacrifice, this wailing, this seemingly insurmountable obstacle that surrounds me, . . . so, I forage.
05 - Easy Pickings - Forage - Mark S. Holman - Holworks - ASCAP 2015 Sometimes, words erupt into melody because of music. That is the case with this song. I hear the music, write the words and sing in three voices, . . .ha! So I have an urban streak in me. . after all, I'm looking for the low hanging fruit. maybe I will pick an apple.

11 - Detail Blues - Asphalt Refugee - Mark S. Holman - Holworks
I wrote this song for all the boys in the Detail Shop at Bryan Honda in Fayetteville, NC. I sell cars there. A car dealership is a fertile bed for creative ideas as I soon discovered. Songs began to come to me until I finished Asphalt Refugee all about my experiences there. Guess I could add a few bonus tracks to it, after all, I still work there hoping that I may have a chance to do something else entirely, music. . . this song i

Turn and Face the Sun
01 - Turn and Face the Sun - Therapy for a Mad Man - Mark Holman - Holworks - ASCAP 2012 - Turn and Face the Sun is a salute to an old soldier. There are no words to sing only notes to reflect the mood, timing, and event. one more step into the brilliant sunshine, parade rest.

Many thanks for your message on my page and kind words about my music and songs - songs about living, loving and hurting ... songs about hopes, dreams and inspirations ... songs about life. And no problem about the other my friend - I haven't come this far in life to not be understanding. I was happy to have an opportunity to enlighten you.
You have a fine collection of songs and music here Mark. I will make it back one of these days hopefully not too far down the road to give you the listening time you deserve and see if I can find a place for another song or two on some of my other stations.
Glad to see you have hooked up with Jerry Butler here too.
Yours in the spirit of friendship and the love of music.

Holworks arrives on IAC in earnest. I am in awe of this great site. Thanks for letting me join!. Jerry you are very gracious to extoll my virtues. I hope you lose no credibility over it. As I said you are a Master musician. I am not even a whelp, yet the words adhere to the notes and my voice welcomes the opportunity to blast as a Harbor Horn to guide the Ears of the World to a small country place in North Carolina. I am honored to have even one song recorded. I am in awe of this Gift the Lord had me reveal last year. What a year it has been too.
So please if you like any of these songs, please help us make more. We have vision, the time is NOW, and we need your help. It is just me and the World. You are the World. I am just an unsettled dust mote in it.
