NEVER GONNA WORK
I wrote this song for my mom. The first time I played it for her she chased me around the house with a rolled-up Better Homes & Gardens magazine. It eventually became one of her favorites. Recorded in 1982 by the band, Tulpa. Tulpa is Alan Waxman - drums, vocals; Bruce Bearfeld - bass, vocals; and Larree - guitar, vocals.
I was stuck on this song for months. But my guitar slapped my face and straightened everything out.
Probably Never, Always Will
My bro Dean Sottile turned me on to this lyric a few months ago and the melody came to me in one sitting. FInally recorded it. Enjoy!
Ode to Robert Hunter
This song poem was the first piece I read of Dean Sottile's. A beautiful tribute to lyricist Robert Hunter. I knew there was music in those words.
YEEEOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A blues trio featuring Alan Waxman on the drums and Eric Fliegel on bass backing me on a song I wrote in the 1970s. This version was recorded at Eric's Studio in 1991. It's kind of... loose. Golden Kayak winner - Best Blues Song - 2019
More Than Friends
Demo record - 1987
Airplane Starship vibe. Recorded in 1988 by the band, We. Features Peri Traynor on lead vocal and flute; Greg Kage on drums; Larree on electric guitars, bass, and Danelectro electric sitar.
A long lost classic by the legendary Bob Dole Band. This song will probably not be very popular in the PC world we're all living in today.
People All Around
Recorded in 1975 with my first original band, August Roads, when I was 17. August Roads is Greg Barber - rhythm guitar, lead vocals; John Barber - drums; Jay Lightfoot - bass; Larree - lead guitar, vocals.
Your Love is Like a Pizza
Another one I wrote in the 1970s. This was written for a girl who worked in a local Hollywood pizza joint. I walked into the place on a Saturday night when it was packed and sang it for her right in front of everyone. I got the date! I have no idea where or when this was recorded. My old bro Russ is playing guitar with me. No idea who's on bass and drums.
Recorded in 1987; 16-track tape at Telstar, L.A.
Don't Move Your Kids to L.A.
Another recording from that jam with Russ. I think the bassist and drummer were his bandmates at the time. I still can't remember.
Written and recorded on a Tuesday. Golden Kayak winner - Best Guitar Instrumental - 2006
Mi Amigo Jesus
Recorded by Willie & the Poorboys - 1987. Willie - lead vocals; Larree - guitar; Darryle - guitar; Greg - drums; Todd - bass.
Nobody For President (Original)
The original version of this song as recorded by the band We featuring Peri Traynor on lead vocals. Also recorded and released by Inhabitants of the Western Wastelend and The Bob Dole Band. Golden Kayak winner - Best Comedy MP3 - 2006.
Another Bob Dole Band classic from 1996. Written by Larree and Jeffy!
Fun With Voicemail #253
This came in on Cane's phone while we were recording the Guitar God System albums. We had some fun with it.
