Marcellino's Keyboard and Guitars
I was born in Rotterdam, somewhere in the sixties. The first thing I did when I started to walk was go directly to the piano and start banging on it. A few years later, when I was bothering my mom once too often again while she was redecorating the house, she sat behind the piano with me and began teaching me some children’s tunes. By the time I was six my mother sent me to a piano-teacher who taught me classical music until well in my late teens. My parents gave me a guitar for my ninth birthday, because by than I could talk of nothing else. I figured it out myself and I would sneak away and play for hours in my room. Still, I couldn’t do without my piano, and the first thing I used to do after school was sit down at the piano and play.
After high-school I tried my luck at the conservatory. And they would have me right away in the first grade, with no prep year. I studied contemporary music: jazz, blues, latin, rock, fusion and classical music.
Throughout my studies, I played with some of the great artists, either from Holland or abroad. During the last years and after I finished my studies I toured Europe for five years. Following that I was asked to go to Spain to record a solo- album and I lived there for a few years while completing the recordings. When I came back I began a small recording studio and produced and composed many albums and songs for other artists and also for myself. Besides that and playing I also work as a music teacher.

My greatest influences in music are:

Mozart, Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, Jaco Pastorius, Miles Davis, and Herbie Hancock.

The instruments and equipment I utilize on stage:

Yamaha P-140 stage piano
Roland XP-30 synthesizer
Alesis Quadrasynth Plus synthesizer/piano
Two Voice Systems “Contact” 120 watts powered monitors
Behringer Eurorack UB802 mixing console
Ibanez FA-100 jazz guitar
Seagull Maritime Mini Jumbo acoustic guitar
Motion TC 907 CE Spanish guitar
