D minor chord
Just listening to Beethoven symp No9 in D minor. I love using D minor i think it has this edge that other chords do not have. It is my goto blues chord for playing in public. A tuning i have tried is D A D Gb A D
also D Minor bit unrealistic in public. Not if you have a self tuning guitar seem to be boutique guitars at the moment sure that will change

B minor is one of my favs. written lots of songs in that key . and they all have their own particular theme and quality. i think we all have certain keys we gravitate towards although I done D flat and D as well. I rather like g minor as well. they each have their own colour and tonal qualities

One of the songs i'm currently working on is in D minor.

The ones most used in FT songs are Eminor, Amajor and Aminor, G, and Emajor.

cool. those are great keys FT, in fact, i think I will take all the chords you named and make a song out of it. not soon but sometime as I am totally booked up for creative stuff in a proper way and do a nice tune from all those chords that be a good challenge, I think especially going from A major to A minor would have a really great sound and transition. see if I can come up with something sometime. I hope I remember this.

Now we are in to sevenths, minor 7ths are cool indeed, lets see where we go from here. I like this kinda talk. lets do the circle of fifths exercise and see what variations of chords we can come up with. or not.....Fly me to the moon has some C O F in it anyone know other songs that have a bit of C O F progressions in them ( Circle of Fifths) have a great evening

here is an example of the circle of five in the Fly me to the moon and there are many others that use the COF progression, perhaps some of you can provide some examples or vids demoing it

D minor with f maj gives you an uplift and it's the same notes. I'm into c minor E flat major right now. I like maintaining the same notes/mode Switching modes fucks my head, I'm a simpleton.

I like the demented and demolished chords a whole lot as well as the augminished ones too. all those kinda jazz chords with fat ugly gross sounds make me sad and happy all at the same time

When I get home this weekend, I will grab some photos of my invention. It is a cardboard rule with a clear cover that slides over the cardboard. I have layed out all the major and minor steps to align with notes over a fretboard facsimile drawn on the cardboard with modes and root positions printed on the clear sleeve. - it's kind of like an abacus of sorts for the guitar. I wanted something to help me strategize fingering approaches on the fretboard.

cool, like to see your chart and ideas Fred.

I like theory and harmony, I also teach advanced harmony for students wanting to gain entry to college university and or jazz schools.

As a part of these places curriculum you have to know about the fundamentals of how music works. not just be a player. it helps to advance ones abilities and understanding. although many have done well without it, in this day and age it is critical to learn and hone your skills now in this area if you want any hope of advancing in the music end of things. same with technology, go to school get an education. do something become proficient in your line of work and improve oneself. like one student said to me this year, it is like the clouds disappeared and the sun started shining after a number of lessons and exercises. teaching and being an educator has its rewards. so not only do I teach i open peoples minds to beautiful things in a way that they understand and grasp. it is a marvel indeed

I think there is much room for experimentalists who see the instruments as noise makers nothing else that's a bit simplified. Give a complete novice an analog synth with loads of knobs and buttons that flash and watch them go.
