Man In The Movies (new song)
Uploaded a new song, "Man in the Movies," a fun song hopefully. The pix accompanying the song's pretty funny, looks suspiciously like kirk and spock doesn't it???

haven't figured out how to paste a pix here, alas.

I think production is important but is is not everything, when I listen I compensate for any quality loss in production with my imagination. I imagine it as it would sound if you had spent a million dollars in the best studio.
My songs would have to be among the worst production on the site. Yet many artists like them, I think they are doing the same thing hearing with their imagination what I am trying to achieve.
There is a song on the Underground 40
"THIS FEELING YOU GIVE! (IS THE FEELING OF LOVE)!" by Carlos Middleton,Sr.
The production is just not there, but its a great song no the less expressing great tradition .
When I listen to Robert Leroy Johnson's blues albums Im hearing real music, Roll on Chicago.

When i went to check out Carlos Middleton Sr., "This Feeling You Give (Is the Freeling of Love)" on the Underground 40, I was sent to the KIAC big 50.

Wonder if anyone else this happens?

his songs are not playing at the moment on his song page, a site issue, i dunno...

yeah, I was reading a link here the other day about production values, and I also look through the production to hear the content, if i may say. It's a balance of course, I remember a friend of mine playin' a Beatles song from a concert that was recorded off to one side or whatever, and it sounded like a garageband...on the other hand, we're inundated with high production values on pap in mainstream music media. hey "pap," alexander solyztnzyn used the word to describe commerical american culture. he spent 10 years or so in the soviet gulag, then won the nobel prize for his book about it...moved to vermont i think, then moved back to russia...

i added mandi kennel and hatti wilcox to my station "stepping stones."

btw your songs "the fortunate earth" and "can u dig it" sound well produced to my humble ears. very strong, clear flute sounds, & your own unique sensibility.
kudos...
