Going through my LPs and 45's and found I want to hold your hand,

I want to wash your hands, or I want to wash my hands before I hold your hand

Mine too! My sister gave me the 45 after she got the album. I prefered the B-side at the time.
I also have Daytripper/We Can Work It Out and I keep it on a shelf in front of me in my studio cause it just makes me feel good to hold a 45 in my hand.

COOL !!! Yeah Father Time, The Beatles transformed the entire musical landscape. Their songs were amazing works of art, with lyrical genius and laced with such great melodic qualities.
I also have Dave Clark Five, whom I liked a bit more then the Beatles at the time and other Iconic bands that came afterwards from England.
Although the Beatles melodies stand head and shoulder above many of the pop arts of the day, and even now, I think they are the best songwriters from that era and perhaps to this time as well, their hooks harmonies and and songcrafting still rank as some of the best songs ever.
Their music is something that students I teach want to play after I display to them the songs on the piano, they are drawn to the music. In conjunction with some of the Iconic classical pieces such as Moonlight Sonata, Fur Elise, Water Music by Handle or the vast insanely complex works of Rachmaninoff the most popular and most requested of the pop tunes are those of the Beatles,. ( Stairway to Heaven ranks up there as well!) . I write out jazz arrangements for the more advanced students as we progress and teach them how to analyze and use chord substitutions and altered chords as well as more complicated works with a left hand accompaniment and right hand voicings that bring them to see how the melody still rings true and is the star of the show so to speak.
Anyways, I am going back to the collection and pull out some other 45s as I have not played them in a long long time. My Sharona by the Knack is first up though, then Rikki Dont Lose that number, by Steely Dan, and then for sure I have to spin The Flying Lizards Money!!!
have a great day, its pouring rain here after a hot spell and lightning thunder storm!
