My Sanctuary
I have a really nice community I live in , the little town, seaside community, although it is changing rapidly with hi-rises and modern buildings, the place well has need some revitalization for years, but the way it is happening makes some of us concerned and frustrated, hey its progress, in some peoples minds

I looked out the window today downstairs , out from the studio waiting room, it was like super hot yesterday and I was out doing what I love the most, gardening, digging in the dirt. prepping the garden getting it ready. it is 20 feet by 40 the main garden area, I dig it all by hand. 2-3 times before the planting season, then there is the removing the rocks, yearly, i have a 'uge pile of rocks about 5 by 10 feet and like 2-3 feet deep that I have made over the years. every year, more rocks, what am i growing a rock garden LOL .....some rocks are big, and some are like small boulders, when I was strong and stupid i would dig all around those big mothers, get out the big crowbars, wood and gradually remove that bitch out of the ground, like I dig and hit another, and another, then over the years, they got smaller. maybe a foot around, then they fit in your hand now they are smaller, the pile blows my mind, I wish I had money for every rock i took out, I be a millionaire

ok, the point, well today its raining, raining its the wonderful life giving refreshing beautiful rain. the greens , so awesome and many shades of greens there are, the tulips, the lilacs, the magnolia's the hosta's the maple trees, the hydrangeas so many plants and flowers to mention the water garden and water fall.I love sitting in the covered area right at the edge of the water garden with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee, and just listen to the soothing water sounds, splashing about, something calming about that. then watch the birds, as they flutter down, looking to make sure the place is safe, I am still, I dont move, as quiet as possible, then they hop bounce creep and flutter away, land on the rocks look around then slip to the edge of the pond and splash till their hearts delight and drink the cool waters that refresh them. I look in the backyard and admire what I have done to this place the last 20 years, and I said, i did that! landscaped the whole yard, the entire place every inch ,it looks awesome. then i thought this is my sanctuary , as my neighbor called it. but then i thought, this is a reflection out there of who I AM. so this is me , my creation, just like your music is a reflection of who you are!!

then another thought passed by and I thought, I am my sanctuary,. my mind. its safe in here, I think. and peaceful.

have a great weekend

It Sounds Wonderful Sir! My gal and I have finally found our "Perfect Space" On a Small lake near the Chippewa River in Wisconsin. To us it is breathtaking. And I will finally have my Round Barn to build my Studio space. Take care Sir, it sounds like you are in a good space!

Best, Bruce

Well Gentlemen,

I am forced to admit, I am sorely out classed.
My 'sanctuary' is but my little room,
it's a bedroom, it's my studio, it's a cluttered mess.

I can only dream of having a retreat such as you both have described...

but I suppose, the ultimate sanctuary is having one's self,
and being okay with one's self, well acquainted, on good terms,
as happy as one can be with one's choices in life.

That, I have.

Maybe one day, I'll have a lovely house with a lovely view,
in the meanwhile, I am thankful, for that which I do have.
Blessed be. Thank you God.

Your sanctuaries sound wonderful. Very inspiring.
Music is one of my main sanctuaries, as is probably the case
for you, and for many of us here at IMP. Thank Heavens For Music!

Then Lesley, you have it all, as I ended my little thought, our sanctuary is our mind and that was the whole point, yes, I am blessed with my physical sanctuary although peace and love emanates from my inner sanctum. our previous gift, the mind. we cultivate that garden , and your sparkling tracks reveal the inner you, pretty cool
