"This Ain't No Race"
This one seems to be getting a little less love, station-wise, than my other new song. So, let's see what y'all think of it.

I think that song is fantastic. It would be perfect as a tv theme tune. It's fast and sharp and produced and performed to perfection. I's hard to get the lyric n the first listen because it's so fast but after a few listens it all sinks in. The more you listen the better it gets and it fills me with an uplifting mood. The other feeling that I get when listening to this is that the band is having fun and that really comes across. You sound fresh and real and the content of your lyric can be identified by many. You make it feel like a lovely thing to consolidate two debts into one. I love the fact that the characters in the song know the value of the real riches in life. This is great work by an artist who always puts fun into there music and therefore is always a joy to listen to.

I agree with Ray that the fun the band is having really comes across. That's something that can't be faked! Even your pipeline posts are brimming with enthusiasm when you are sharing your process in the studio. This country genre seems to suit your voice very well and your acoustic guitar bounces along with just the right amount of country western swing. "If You Knew" is also a good Nashville-sounding track. Will the whole CD be country western? I doubt you could keep your rock roots from staying away too long. Keep up the good work!

Thanks so much, guys! I really appreciate it. We did have fun recording, that's because we're friends first and the bandmates thing is an extension of that. So you got that part right.

As to whether or not the whole album is going to be CnW: not entirely, but it certainly is leaning more heavily in that direction than ever before, but there still will be rock tracks on there ("Break My Heart") and other oddities ("Spinning, Standing Still").

Thanks again for listening and for the feedback!

This was a fun song. The music fit the feeling perfectly. The singer has a strong voice. I enjoyed the guitar solo and loved the sound you chose to use on it for this song. Production was great!! Very clever lyrics but, since I was reading every lyric as I listed, it struck me that the bridge seems out of place, if this truly "ain't no race." I know I'm reading far too much into that but, why would you care about the Jones' getting ahead if you're not racing too? I definitely empathize with the lyricist's overall message though. Overall, strong song for your catalog.

Thanks so much Intro! I thought about that bridge thing, too. But then I realized that it just didn't matter. I know what it means to me.
Again, thanks so much! I really appreciate your taking the time to listen to and comment on the tune. Glad that you enjoyed it.
