Yup, most of my basslines are the Ric direct, although the latest ones are the Ric through Mr. Fearn's VT-15 channel strip, which is exquisite to my ear. My cover of Mr. Ison's "I Know A Good Thing" was a "first example" of that combo. I love the action, the slim neck, everything about that bass. Rock on!

Landed on your page by way of Tom O'Brien - saw that Gibson you're holding in yer profile pic and HAD to try to catch a glimpse so looked at yer pics, then saw Sean w/Rick and HAD to say - that's just like MY FAVORITE BASS (I only have two) THAT I'VE HAD AND USED ALMOST EXCLUSIVELY SINCE 1980!

Ahhhhh, I feel better now...

Hey Bob, I saw your note on my Super Songwriters station. I checked out your tunes and I am glad I did. I was blown away. You are a very talented musician and songwriter. "Melt Away" is my favorite. That's a big time song, man. Also really liked "Let Me Owe You Something." You've got real talent. If I had money I'd start a record label or management company and sign all you guys that should be signed and touring so people can hear you Hugh Hamilton, Phlegm/Conversation Suicide, Bob Elliot...the list could go on. Ah hell, maybe I'll hit the lottery someday. Stop by my page sometime and check out some of my tunes if you get a chance. Best wishes to you and keep up the great work! -JP

Dude,
me, mike and kc were all in my room for like 2 hours listening to our favorite songs by you - a selection of what you have on here of course, and stuff from the old days - stuff that should be on your greatest hits album :) - like Listen I, Even Your Tears, Dont but I Do, and of course one that no one will apparently ever hear but us, Bonafide Candy - but we were having a great time singing along and talking about the music and lyrics. I really think your song First Contact has such awesome lyrics - I love the perspective from which you tell the story - plus, it's so catchy. We are going to put together a collection of your songs for a greatest hits album, it might have to be a double album :) - I know you would rather have all the songs flow together... Abbey Road and such... but, I think people being introduced to your music that we all collectively think is the best of the best would be blown away by you. So, what do you think? You need to make a ton of money for all the years of music you have laid down you know?

Hey Bob,
Thanks so much for the shout out last week. I came on by and listened to your music and I really like what you have on here, too. Really like it.

Thanks so much for all you said and please know that the feeling is mutual.

Congratulations on the rising popularity of your music Bob!! I love the whole new album... but I love all of your albums anyways. I see First Contact is in the Big 50!!! and gaining ground!!! That's awesome. But... where's Bonafide Candy Store? :) People would groove to that one... number one on the charts for sure

Thanks for the comment on my music. Here's a de_scription of your music I put as a link on my page:

"Bob has some really great acoustic music with some poignant lyrical content. I can see myself sitting a cozy candlelit cantina in Santa Fe with my wife, some wine listening to his great music live. It brings that kind of di_scription when listening..."

Bob,
What you do in your music and the lyrics is what I wish the Hip Hop genre would get back to. Your song, "Orange Lane" is the perfect example of that. Hip Hop artists on the charts today are too focused on the material things instead of whats going on in everyday life around us or within yourself. EXCELLENT song "Orange Lane" is!!! All around great production, singing and instrumentation in your music.
Thanks for sharing your work.

There's honesty and originality here. Don't find that very much. This is good stuff.
