The Golden Wish
Some folks have a bucket list
of wishes they hope will come true
before they reach the end of the trail
and the bill for the feast comes due.
I have many blessings in my life
and of this I'm very glad.
But there's something I don't have
and it makes me feel so sad.
I've garnered many honors at Indie Music People
and of this I'm very proud
but after 10 years of being here
There's something I'll shout out loud
I never won a Golden Kayak Award
But there's no one I'll be dissing
when I meet my maker
And that golden prize is missing.
I'll walk on through the gates of Eden
While the sun is bright and glistening
And I'll be forever thankful that so many
of you were listening.
Thank you Scott, Dave, Neil and all the members of IMP for playing such an important role in validating my purpose in life which is to simply try to make good music. Special thanks go to Stoneman, Bryon, Delores, Silverwood Studios, Bruce and Don of The Rhythm Kings, Psyche's Muse, Ronnie Gent and others who have given support and kind comments that I will always treasure. I hope my poem induced a smile or a chuckle which is all it was meant to do. Have a happy holiday.

Well maybe the 10th time is the charm haha - in the meantime #1 in All Genres ain't bad .... Hey Susan Lucci eventually got the Emmy! All your music is better than good :)

Thanks to everyone who commented! It's very heartening to get that kind of support from such wonderful artists. Hopefully "Water From A Stone" gets nominated.
My songs, Fly Home, Reason To Live, Independent Music and There's A Party, Work Of Art and Angels Cry are also songs that were created within the nomination time frame.

You WILL WIN a Golden Kayak this year if I have anything to say about it, Richard! Like I said on the other thread, I have not printed out and studied the list yet, but I foresee nominating you and your songs in 2-3 categories! Stay tuned!
