Bruce and Richard, I don't know either.
I think I'll do some more research, but on a guess I'd say a lot has to do with the actual cause of your tinnitus and the condition of the three (outer, middle and inner) ears per side as well as the brain receptors too.
It's a fascinating mechanism. My wife is an RN and frequently wows me with how complex human biology is from the obvious to the incredibly minute.
I thought that SHOKZ who have the most to gain, might have published some articles on it and researched it and maybe they have. But all I could find in a search for tinnitus in their blogs only offered two results; one about diet (interesting, but inconclusive re: tinnitus).
Their community boards may offer more, though I doubt it would be any more authoritative than this.
Regardless of what anyone says, it's something you'd want to talk over with your doctor. I'm not sure if you have an audiologist or an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor, but they might be able to help.
Although I have enjoyed listening through my Shokz, I have no idea if they're safe. I haven't felt any pain from them as I have from live playing, studio headphones and ear buds, although occasionally when they have slipped down a little I do get a physical vibration on my skin rather than hearing it in my bones.
Anyway, I like them, but I can't crank them up like a pair of good headphones plugged into an amplifier, but given the price others have paid for just that, it's probably for the best.
Here's an article on tinnitus. It mentions white noise. I recently saw an ad for an app (Calm or something else) that offered Brown, Green and Pink noise.
Tinnitus
Best,

While they have their good sides like being able to hear someone in the room or traffic while cycling and many other positives I'm not sure how well they'd work for mixing or other studio jobs either.
They are probably healthier for the eardrum and probably the middle ear, but inner ear?
Certainly healthier for the ear canal than buds though.
Paul brought up some terrific points.
If you wanted to give them a try however, you could pick them up through Amazon and if they don't work out, it's an easy return.
Here's an article I ran across that, while hardly exhaustive or scientifically informative does cover both points of view.
Are Bone Conduction Headphones Safe?
Oh, one other positive is that I can enjoy music that I want to hear without annoying anyone else while not being completely incommunicado.
