Car radio music
The other day I was walking down the street when a car was stopped at the red light and the driver had the radio turned up loud. The song was “Happy Just To Dance with you by the Beatles and it was a very nostalgic few moments for me. It brought me all the way back to when I was a kid listening to the top 40 songs in the family car when I’d go somewhere with my mom who loved all kinds of music. It was like breathing rarified air for three beautiful minutes at a time. The car was like a high quality boom box that filled up the space with perfectly dreamy harmonies and youthful energy. Sometimes it was the first time I had heard some of these songs and it was like stumbling on to buried treasure. It was so exhilarating to hear All My Lovin’, PS I Love You, and all the other hits the guys had at the time. The movement of the car, the scenery, the wind coming through the window and the full bass sound and vocal clarity coming through the radio we’re all elements that made the experience so wonderful. I credit the Beatles with
changing my life for the better and inspiring me to endeavor to make the kind of music that fills a car with joy.

Yes, totally agree, there's a magic driving down the road on a summer night and having a great song come on the radio, whether the windows are up or down (preferably open), seems like a divine inflow, from the Universal consciousness straight to a person's ear lol...Very groovy, uplifting feeling. A couple years ago, I remember hearing a song "Zombies (In Your Head)", that when I came home I looked up, Dolores & the Cranberries, I think that was, another great song heard fairly recently "Feel Good Inc., by the Gorillaz, also got interested in
RHCP (Red Hot Chili Peppers) on the car radio, songs like "The Bridge," and "Give It Away" and "Scar Tissue."
The Beatles are marvelous on the radio, though where I am rarely played anymore, $$s involved prob'ly, they wanna play what's selling now...
Plenty good music around, waiting to hear Mona Lisa Twins on the radio, they'd do grand stuff...

The car. What a Time Machine she was. I had a 66 impala. Listening to the eagles, doors, and my all time favorite road song Me and Bobby McGee. By Joplin of course. So many memories.

I gave numerous specific memories about hearing music in the car.
One of my earliest memories was hearing the song King of the Road.
The first time i recalling loving music was hearing Up Up and Away by 5th dimension on the way to my first ever major league baseball game,
I remember hearing this exotic Harry Chapin song called Taxi on the way to Annapolis to visit my Aunt Bessie.. That never got any airplay where I lived,
