Who I am, and why you might find my blog worth reading
My name is Marian, and I am a lexiholic. If you enjoy syntax, syllabic interest, new ideas, and stimulating discourse, I humbly submit to you that you may enjoy my blog. I offer the following as supporting evidence:
1. The account of my latest tour is entirely in haiku.
2. I am a writer first and a singer second, and my writing has thus far been reported to be entertaining by such figures as legislators, baristas, photographers, and mechanics. If they all agree, I'm sure you will.
3. I am currently unfolding the saga of Zippy, my musical cat who travels everywhere with me. Zippy is dead. But it's not a morbid story -- it's very uplifting, really.
4. I release a new song every month, just for fun. Such jewels as "We're Out for Blood," the rockin' punk theme song to the film Zombie Cheerleader Camp, are announced on the blog as they're released. They're always available for 49 cents on my website, and they're always entertaining.
5. I have excellent spelling and grammar, though I am not snobbish about it and enjoy being corrected once in a while. But you can expect a well-punctuated reading experience.
For all these reasons, and more which you are welcome to submit to me as you discover them, I recommend that you visit my blog at http://www.mariancall.com and see if it's to your taste.

I'd rather read your blog here.
I know several women who are syllabically gifted. I checked out your songs and they were crisp and fairly well done, your voice seems pretty assured for the amount of tongue twisting that was required there.
You shouldn't start a sentence with the word 'But' :~D.
So, what's your favorite punctuation mark?

Hey Everybody! Listener alert! Proceed directly to Marian's page and listen to both songs - two big thumbs up from Hugo...I'm luvin' the (seeming) Alan Sherman and Stan Freberg tone of the "Alaskan Girl" - and the Volvo song is a spot-on groove with minimal instrumentation, and excellent vox...
Welcome, Marian - Fly's right (hate to admit it) - blog here, Toots - welcome, have fun, thanks for the fun listen - great way for me to start my day...
:)

Girl, you are SUPERBLY talented! I adore your Volvo Song and have added it to my Top 20 station.
Of course, it would be unfair of me not to mention that 'I Wish I Were a Real Alaskan Girl' is also a first class song with a superb vocal performance, arrangement and production.
Now, Get your talented butt over here and blog for us on IAC!!! I know I speak for others as well when I say I am looking forward to adding your intellect and humour to my regular IAC reading material.
You will find many kindred spirits here and you'll be made to feel right at home :)

We feed our cats Science Diet food almost exclusively.
If you're not familiar with their look, they're little brown nutritional pellets slightly larger than a baby pea.
We had an issue with one of our seven cats, as he ate constantly, and so at times we needed to pluck the food from the floor in it's nonde_script white Tupperware bowl and set it on the counter out of way of the 30 pound male's constant appetite.
One day, our guests arrived for dinner ... also pet people w/ several dogs and cats, and we started our salads. My wife had laid out all the ingredients, letting people choose what they wanted to include in their mix.
My good friend, looking at the bowl of pellets on the counter, inquired as to what they were.
Being a cat person himself, and having known him for years to be a jokester, I thought he was kidding me, and so I flippantly answered, "It's a new type of croûton." and ran off immediately to help my wife with other cooking chores.
You can see where this is going ...
He got halfway into his salad before realizing something was terribly wrong with the croûtons.
If you've read Marian's blog, that story will make sense to you.
Terrific tunes, M ... smart lyrics, with a perfect blend of melody and harmony. I thoroughly enjoyed both.
Best,
Kev-

They really are great tunes. Reminds me a bit more of Tom Lehrer than Sherman, but that's my opinion. The blogs are hip, too, but I don't really like the idea of joining another website, just to comment on them (I'm already on about 20). However, I DO want to hear more about Zippy the dead cat (how zippy can he be?).
