New York City?
Yes, New York City. That is where I am going to be spending my first vacation for the year. Flying out tomorrow morning going cross country all the way to the Big Apple. Gonna be my first visit to the place. Anyone living in the area holla at me and maybe we can meet and have a drink or something. I don't do music on my vacations so that is not going to happen (my wifes cardinal rule). But we can meet face to face and hang out. New York has been on my bucket list for over 60 years. So, needless to say, I am excited!
Much Respect,
Stoneman

I used to go there a lot when I lived closer. Make sure you drive down Broadway, that's a pretty exciting strip.

Hope you have a blast! New York is like a different world unto itself. So much to do. So much great art, music, and theatre. But, just like when you visit another country, you've got to bend a little to their culture. It's a little more fast-paced than the west coast. I love to visit there, but I don't think I could live there. I like the California pace.

Yeah, I have noticed the pace change already. My wife and I are having a blast Great food and attractions. Have to walk fast though because people walk on you if you don'!. Our Resort is awesome. Were on the 32nd floor and everyone is nice here. My first time will not be my last time here. We actually bought a new timeshare this morning. Will probably come back yearly. Gonna check out some music venues and do some dancing tonight. Wish I knew someone here. Can check off another thing on my bucket list. Dreams do come true!

Having an amazing time here in New York. Went to see "The View" taping this morning and wound up being picked for my own segment on the show. They interviewed me about being a Vietnam veteran. It was very emotional as I mentioned that I never got my parade when i came home and Whoopee stood up and said lets give this man his parade. They all paraded around the studio and each of the shows stars gave me a big hug. The crowd was chanting my name and I got so emotional that i cried right there on TV. My whole family saw me on TV and it was very cool. This trip is turning out to be the trip of a lifetime. Heard a lot about New York City but this is beyond anything I ever heard. I'm doing all the tourist crap and it is so much fun! Anyway, Holler at me if you saw the segment on "The View"

I could see you in studio 54 or Heebeegeebee's giving it some on the dancefloor the energy you have towards new music. Hope you are going to do find a karoake bar in New York and show them how it's done in L.A.

Congratulations, and thanks for your service.
But I (like others who are too well mannered to ask) have two questions...
1. How did this come about? I've never watched that show, but from all I've heard, it's not a usual feature, is it?
2. Is that lovely lady next to you your now famous wife?
Thanks again and welcome home.

Okay Glenn, it went down like this. My wife and I went to the early morning taping of The Chew. As we were leaving a man asked us if we wanted to see the taping of The View. So, we said yes and got in the line for the show. While we were in the line a gentleman that was also the "Hype man" for the show came up to me and said "Thank You For Your Service" as he had noticed me wearing my Navy Veteran hat. We shook hand and then they led us into the studio where The View is taped. Shortly after that the hosts for the show came out and the taping began. While I was sitting there O noticed that Meghan McCain was looking at me. She then pointed to my hat and mouthed the words "Thank You". I responded in kind and when the commercial break started the Hype guy came over and asked me to stand. Then he exhorted the crowd to give me a hand for being a veteran. After that they asked all the veterans in the place to stand and they cheered for them all.
So, when the break was over Whoopee started talking about me and my service as a Vietnam vet. Then she went into a rant about how badly Vietnam vets had been treated when we returned home and she asked the Hype man to ask me how I felt about that. I said "Well, I never got my parade" which was an allusion to the past wars and how they always had ticker tape parades for the returning vets. Suddenly Whoopee jumped up and said Oh, you never got your parade? Well lets give this man his parade and they all started parading around and clapping their hands. I was so moved by it that I cried. Then, they asked me to stay after the taping and Sunny did a one on one interview with me that will be aired at a later date. An interesting thing of note is the fact that when we were at The Chew taping they made me take off my hat. So one show makes take it off and the other show celebrates the damn thang. Quite an experience! Now they have requested that I send them pictures from when I was in Nam and when I was young to correlate with a future story on me. It was totally unexpected and I was blown away by the whole thing. Unfortunately, my manager is pissed at me because I didn't mention my music. But fuck it, it wasn't about that at all!!
