Here they are, your nominees AND BALLOT for the 2015 Golden Kayak Awards
Thanks all who nominated. Some artists had several songs nominated in one category but I limited that to 1 so you weren't competing against yourself, I used the song with the most plays to choose which one to put on the ballot in those cases. Now you have a couple weeks to get your cut and paste ballots in but don't wait til the last minute cause we got to do the radio show on Jan 17th. You can hear all songs on this Station.
Rules. You have to be a member to vote, prior to the start of this thread. You can't use your alter egos to vote, just one name. Yes you can vote for yourself in this one.
Put your artist name or artist # at the top of your ballot. Cut and paste this, put an X to the right of who you're voting for, send to goldenkayaks2015@gmail.com
Lastly, what a great bunch of nominated songs and artists! It's a great honor to be nominated by your peers.

I went back and read the posting about how the contest worked and this is probably not the right time or place to put it but I think the way the voting was done was the cause of the lack of voting. To have to email the artist name song and category to a specific place not an easy way to cast a vote. To improve future contests I suggest the admin if possible add a vote button somewhere on the site. So let’s say I like Flowers In Syrup - Bartender (which is a really great song by the way) I should be able to choose the song and vote for it. Maybe something like you are doing with the song of the year I know this is a lot of work on the admins but if a vote for song button could be added in some way it would make it easier and improve voting.
I want to say it is an honor to be nominated with all these great songs and thank you for the privilege of being voted in your company. This is really amazing.
TSC,
Ken

There is no lack of voting, this just came out today. I figure most people know how to cut and paste. If you don't, we'll be glad to teach you.

I'd add that of course we'd like to go about it in a different way, however the guy we go to for things like this has been busy with another project and we just don't have the resources to go elsewhere at this time.

Congrats nominees. I admit I have not done much listening since coming back so I will not be voting, but will simply wish everyone good luck and hopefully I will get a bit more involved next year.

Great to see the Golden Kayak Awards are back. I just listened to my fellow nominees in my category and man, there are some quality tracks here. Good luck to everyone on the list. I’ll be playing more of the nominated tracks in the other genres too. A great way to hear what’s going on out there.

Well the good news is we've already gotten a lot of ballots in.
The bad news is some folks are already up to typical artist vote stacking games. Folks, if you really believe in your music, there should be no need for this.

Is it just one song we now vote for or one in each category?
Thanks

|
|

one in each of 25 categories so 25 votes on the one ballot, max.

The Golden Kyaks is just a fun thing and shouldn't be taken too seriously, there are too many great artists and songs to decide between!
So whoever wins whatever shouldn't let it go to their heads imo.
It ain't the Oscars, no money changes hands, no lives are changed, we just get to see IMP in all it's musical glory once a year. Thanks to IMP listeners, IMP reviewers and IMP Station masters who really know their stuff.

First----- congrats to all those nominated, your music is being put out there in the spirit of Indie and you are all winners.
Scott and his team deserve Kudos for making this happen, Scott you are proving to be a tolerant but tough leader on IMP,' Long May you Run'
Some of my mates tunes are up there, and that is heart warming, and the newbies like ALJ etc have high quality songs that will be tough to defeat.
IMP---- feel the Buzz !

PS... Love your new (maybe old?) one about the drive in and she
dropped the soda and... night she met me, that's it...
and the Negative Tendencies one... Not So Far From The Fork Of The Road?
Did I get the title right? It's like my favorite song. Ever. Well before that
was The Love I Lost... but this one put Rock N Roll back on top for me. ~L

First of all; Thank you for nominating our song "Stigma Alpha" we are humbly appreciative. Second; Congratulations to all the nominees! I just completed our ballot and actually listened to all of the music. Everyone nominated deeply deserved to be and I am thrilled we are in such great company of artists. Last; After listening to all of the music nominated, I truly appreciate the station managers, moderators, and artists that put this together. It obviously took a lot of work.
Cheers, TBA
