Who wants to be a Billionaire?
Being a millionaire means nothing compared to what it meant when this famous song was written, so I've increased it to Who wants to be a "Billionaire"
Here are the lyrics, the things you could aspire to back then, how many of them would you want if you were very rich today ?
flashy flunkies everywhere?
a country estate?
to wallow in champagne?
a supersonic plane?
uranium to spare?
a gigantic yacht?
a fancy foreign car?
to tire of caviar?
a marble swimming pool?
go to every swell affair?
to ride behind a liveried chauffeur?
an opera box
sleep through Wagner at the Met?
to corner Cartiers too? (no idea what that means)
The only one I might like is a marble swimming pool ; well maybe a yacht is someone else sailed it for me .
How 'bout you?
And if nothing appeals what would you do with your money?

Only the notion of a country estate appeals to me. And preferably an ancient, atmospheric place in the Scottish highlands. :) A tumble-down castle would do nicely. I'd renovate it, and put it to all kinds of good uses. ;)
BTW, a 'Cartier' is a very expensive watch.

Thanks Donna, I like the sound of the Scottish Highlands estate but it gets pretty chilly up there so I might need "Flunkies" to keep the fires going, and maybe a private plane to get there.

Oh, it goes without saying that I'd need flunkies. ;) And a vehicle as well, but not necessarily a 'fancy foreign car'. I'd lean towards a well-fitted out jeep. ;)

Being rich would me I'd never have to work again and I hate work.
I'd like an oceanfront house in Big Sur with all my old favorite pinball machines.

After seeing "The Queen" I think I'd like to buy Balmoral, if I were super-rich.
