Highs, Lows, and the way it goes.....
Hey all, Been awhile. I've been hiding.. Started this last June. I sent a recording into the Voice. Yeah, I Know WTF? But I felt I had to try it the corp.way. Once at least. Well I toddled off to Chicago. I had gotten a private audition from my recording. Well I;d be damned if they did not give me a call back for the next day with the producer. Had to sign a lot of Confidentiality shit. and not talk about their " Process" . Then I waited.... and waited..... Finally received a call to go to indianapolis. I thought .... Oh Boy ! Here we go.... Same producer for 3 and a half hours singing the same songs over and over. If I never sing "Let Her Cry " again it will be too soon.
My hopes had never been higher i music....... and then, I waited some more . to one day a month a go be told to "try again" "your story is just to much the same" ??? WTF??? So I reasoned I just don't make for good T.V.
I've been devastated. No urge to play . No songs to write. just me and a bottle of Jack. But today, as my wife left for seattle for work. I got the feeling again to pick up this old guitar and write something . For me and no one else. Gonna tune this puppy down to an open D and see what happens. maybe strap on my slide too. Why Not?. Hopefully I'm back. I just gotta let this thing go. I've missed you all....

Welcome back, Bruce! The Voice seems to be more attracted to artist’s “back-story” than how well they sing. The show has become kind of a soap opera where the saddest story gets all the attention. Congrats though on trying to further your career. Not everyone makes that leap of faith and risks rejection. You have a great authentic voice. For me, you’re a four chair turn!
