Is having a sense of humour essential to get you through your day?
Over here in the UK we tend to poke fun at our politicians, the weather, the transport system and most of all each other. In fact the closer you are to someone the more likely you are to rag on 'em, especially in the workplace. We tend to take this for granted, but culturally, are things different in other countries? Maybe such practices are seen as dissident, subversive or downright rude...............

Absolutely Chris .... You Brits are terrific and I think we are genuinely enriched by your presence ... BTW thanks for Monty and the Beatles ...
now shall we take a sip of tea out of the harbor together ?
We should most definitely invite the rest of the world too, as I have found them to be very cool too !

Sam - definitely! I would love to see some blogs here from around the globe, but mostly its you guys, a few Brits and Aussies and Kiwis. Maybe one day we will have a truly multi cultural, multi national gathering here and all the opportunities that will present will be truly staggering!
btw - Steve (SRM) you stirred my interest now.....what exactly does make your day so sh*t and what can we all do to help ya along lifes rocky road?

Actually, Chris, I'm doing pretty well (I just like to moan). My humour tends to be directed at myself a lot. However, like Sam, I treasure the Pythons and the way their surreal sense of humour hits a part of my brain that is difficult to reach (it's right behind my left kidney- I have to hide it from the gremlins).
But thanks for showing an interest. Just keep making that jumpin' music.
Back on subject- there was a story about cubicle warfare in the workplace on some morning show (my excuse- I work at a small market television station). They gave me a lot of ideas for practical jokes.

I'm a supervisor where I work. I think I've earned the right to give people crap.......
All in fun of course. It helps to be a good sport too.
One of the workers even brought in a remote controlled fart sounding machine. After a few prank calls, and a couple of screwy meetings, I took it away and put it above the false ceiling in the men's bathroom. Now every so often, God farts on our guests. No one usually says anything, but a lot of guys come out laughing.
BBrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaapppppppppppppppppppp!

He he he! Nice one Duane and Magnetfisch. Once at work we 'acquired' a lifesize toy gorilla from a skip and dressed him up in overalls, a hi vis vest and hard hat and he regularly appeared in team fotos etc. One day we sat him on the toilet and when the cleaner came accross him, she fair screamed the place down........

I was once given an inflatable doll at a holiday party. I like to think it was a joke. And that it reflected an over-abundance of affection...
