Ah! It sounds too good to be true but when it comes down to it the music is probably just a small part of the course and you'd find yourself having to discuss some heavy sociological issues connected to their life, times and influences and their impact on the world from a variety of perspectives over a long period. I remember Gavin got his degree on the back of a thesis relating to the Beach Boys and how they and their music and lifestyle decisions were affected by the way America was evolving socially and politically at that time.
I know you're smiling/teasing Hugh, but seriously, I think many of us are attracted to courses which 'appear' interesting or easy and sadly the University drop out rate is rather high these days.

Hugh is the "beatles incarnate" already. He could start a how to play the beatles university himself. no one comes close to what he has done on covers of the fab four.

Interesting Hugh...I guess alot of us (you n me included) are doing our own private research anyway without getting a certificate at the end lol
"and you'd find yourself having to discuss some heavy sociological issues connected to their life, times and influences and their impact on the world from a variety of perspectives over a long period"
That actually sounds fascinating to me Jilly

Do you get credit for time served? And where do you cash in the diploma when you get the degree? :) Hey Hugh, here's a you tube of my band playing live last summer. I hate the footage cause I was totally washed out by the spotlight, so wouldn't you know this turns up on You Tube. (Next time I'm trading sides) but I thought you might enjoy checking out some sounds. And...I'm gonna be in NY June 1st-4th possibly performing as a solo. Have a good weekend.

St. Mary's University College:
ENGL 113 H(3-2T) Bob Dylan and the Folk Tradition
This course will begin by exploring the biography of Bob Dylan. What was his relationship with other musicians and poets, such as Woody Guthrie and Allen Ginsberg? Where does “Like A Rolling Stone” fit within Dylan’s song spectrum? It will proceed to look through the ins and outs of Bob Dylan’s central masterpiece: “Like A Rolling Stone.” Furthermore, the class will read other “masterpieces” of literature that have had much the same impact and much the same “intent” as Dylan’s “Like A Rolling Stone.”
