Neil Young's old recording console in action
http://www.uaudio.com/media/videos.html?UAVID=Analog_610_Console

A friend forwarded me the above video link (cut and paste into your browser). It shows Neil Young's old Universal Audio 610 recording console visiting UA's corporate home to track a live studio session (not Neil, but his studio manager is in attendance), complete with bathroom reverb chamber. According to his studio manager, Neil Young has used this very console for tracking and for mixing most of his tunes.

For the record, I have a Universal Audio LA-610 channel strip, which I really like. However, while I find that a useful and effective recording tool, I prefer the (significantly more expensive) VT-15 channel strip from www.dwfearn.com .

Enjoy the video with a cup of coffee (I did)...

Funny you should put it that way - I was just thinking that maybe I could get one of those things, keep it in the living room - and let the tubes warm the house in lieu of the heater...

My mom STILL has one like that (lol)...
