Good News!
This forum isnt generally used for showing off your goods news to others. I guess there is not a lot of opportunity for banter if you just post a statement rather than thought provoking questions. I for one would love to hear about it when something good happens to someone.
Ok, I may aswell be honest. Although I truely believe in my above statement, its just a cunning plan to share my news with everyone. Each year, the best up and coming artists from each region of the UK are compiled onto a promo CD that is given out on the British Music stand at MIDEM, a music festival held in Canne each year. Somehow I have been asked to appear on the Yorkshire region CD, which has seen the likes of The Arctic Monkeys and the Pigeon Detectives grace the playlist over the last few years. I know its disgracefully blatent showing off, but Im so pleased I just want to tell everyone. The track they want to use is Give Yourself A Name

That's great exposure Ben and very cool. Any time something special happens to an I.A.C. member it's good for all of us here. People will look you up and find I.A.C. music. Nice going!

I love good news because it's good. Much better than squabbling bickering snarly scab picking!
Good on you, Ben! Deserved!

What do you guys think about coming together at a location that we could all agree on and have a huge IACMUSIC concert? I think it would be awesome-I know it's a longshot but I think it's definitely something for all of us to consider. There's way too much talent on this site to not share it together live. I'd love to know all of your thoughts on this. By the way, my state paper is doing an interview/review on my new upcoming single American Pride (A Soldier's Tribute) and I am going to be sure to mention IAC and the talent all of its members have. -AJ

I think it's great that your music is being 'Canned' Ben. I just want to make sure I get a credit for 'discovering' you nearly 2 years back. Yorkshire is becoming the epicentre for superb indie music and you're leading the way...I'm sending a big hug up the M1 as I speak :)

Yorkshire... I've always had a love for songs about places I've never been, especially England. Here's one that will always be a favorite:
--------
Adventures in a Yorkshire Landscape
by Bill Nelson (Be Bop Deluxe)
Bridges and rivers
And buildings pulled down
Time spent in places my footsteps had found
Mirrors in ballrooms lie smashed on the ground,
Walking with November mists...
Pathways and windows
And movies in May
Quiet old ladies who soon pass away
Paintings and songs that I'd done in a day...
Going round in my head...
Fires on spires and chimneys of black
Fields on horizons with pylons that crack
With singing sad wires of council house mystics
To apply their statistics
And read the tea leaves,
Time knows no limits for days such as these.
--------

Hearty Congrats!! Ben!
Don't worry about "showing off" - A good performer needs to be able to strut his/her stuff in public.

Hi Ben, great to hear a Yorkshire guy doing so well. My husband came from York and his father still lives there. He really loves Yorkshire puddings and a pint of Sam Smiths. Dirge spent many happy days in York and Scarborough when she was young. It is one of my favourite cities and we always like to walk the old city walls and through the Shambles when we go there.

Well DKs Mum, Im York born and bred, spent a couple of years in Leeds but that only made me realise how good York is, and I was back again. You forget how beautiful it is sometimes. I was driving down Bootham the other day and suddenly realised there was a gigantic Cathedral lit up in front of me. Some people have never seen anything like it and I get to see it everyday.
