Cryin' shame. I'd loan 'em my stuff, if they were playing here.
Of course, if they were playing here (Wichita False, Texas), they would probably have bigger trouble than no equipment. Hiring a new tour director would be top of my list.

I hate having to play in bands for just this reason.
No money.
People steal your shit.
No insurance (because of the no money thing)

i don kno srm...The New York Dolls survived Texas...but The Sex Pistols almost
got killed there...so you may have a point.. ha ha...Iggys tough enuff 2 live and
tell about it. yeh Kev...they're prolly richer than me but it's just the thought of all
their kick-ass equipment being gone into thin-air, that gives me gut-wrenching pangs
of despair, trying to imagine if it happened 2 me. Hope the thieves get caught.

One should always place a curse in their gig bag just for such occasions ....
As I read through the list ... I can see a good lesson to be learned from things like this are to make sure all your gear has Serial numbers on it ... and you keep a list of those numbers in a safety deposit box ....
Still it's a bummer that they had to go through this .... :(

yeh queenie Liz....but prolly just in his mind's gear-lust section of the brain.....
besides, he couldn't even mentally have been a suspect...take a look at
his new avatar pic...he's evidently on vacation (again?...he he)...looks like Hawaii
...with the flower thingy round his neck and his trusty Uke in hand...he may be
over at Holo's pad, writing an Obama/worship/robot-song or drinking a Bahama
Mama on some dingy, dreaming of Star-dom or the return of his refund checks
from CD Baby...so we'll take him off the suspect list for now. :D

HAHAHAAA!
Ok fine.
He's on holiday.
Or, couldn't possibly be suspect because he couldn't possibly find any more room in his house for gear.

yeh...we know Hugh...just kidding of course. :)....know what ya mean...I feel
their pain too. Like The Code sez: it's really every muso's worst nightmare.
Perhaps those Canadian mounties or whatever they're called will find out
who did it. I wonder how many gigs were canceled because of this and if they
had to rent stuff to finish the tour.

Man, that's a sign of the times! No respect for your elders in rock & roll.....and even the GREATS gettin' robbed & mobbed up on....Of course, it coulda just been some tweakers, who had NO idea what they got.
Think about that one. Tweakers sellin' KILLER vintage instruments & thousands of dollars in tube amp & other great equipment for just a few more hits on their pipes. SAD! Iggy Pop is a NATIONAL icon, and CRITICAL for bringing the early punk & pre-punk, european music to the U.S.
People should definitely nhave some respect for an amaoz --- amazing ROCK god like Iggy Pop...
Ya know?
I hope those tweakers get shot down in flames, for stealin' a pace setter's stuff.

Ouch. I feel for them, just goes to show though that you should never. never, leave your guitar in the van!
Hopefully the guitars at least are quite traceable.

"Ouch. I feel for them, just goes to show though that you should never. never, leave your guitar in the van! "
yeh Andy.....or if you do, make sure there's a kick-ass alarm installed!
....and a well hidden 'Kill-Switch'! I've seen those Penske trucks, which usually
are rented out by people. Was it rented by The Stooges? Did they own it?
Only they know and, whatever the case, if they continue to stay together, I
think they'll assuredly travel more securely from now on....even if some of
them have to pool their money to do so.

not sure WHY they didn't have an old dude with an AK-47 sleepin' in the truck ...
Hell I'd do it for a burger, a beer and a bong hit ... :)

the fact that they have all those serial numbers on file makes me think they have , or at least at one time had an insurance policy....Hopefully it's paid up..
but things like that 63 Bass and those Vintage Amps, that's not really replaceable...
Those reverend guitars!~
ug..
fucking horrible

Sam, you be trippin again. he he
yeh never never, there prolly is a 'blue book' for equipment
and insurance companies never wanna pay and if they do,
they'll find some way to go low-pay. ..or...no pay.
